Stayed Mar 22, 2024This is a FANTASTIC property. The suite is very spacious. There are two separate bedrooms. They are also two separate pullout couches which are easy to open and close. My youngest slept on it. He said it was fine. It was not the most comfortable but it is a sofa bed. The kitchen is fully stocked. There was even laundry detergent for the washing machine. The rooms and overall resort was very clean. We stayed over what is typically thought of as Spring Break. The resort was full but did not feel crowded. There are a number of pools in Canyon Villas. It was easy to find seats each day and there were always clean towels available. The staff is great. There were a number of activities offered each day, although we did not partake. There is one food option. It is a grill with a good selection of options. We usually ate lunch there. In terms of location, there is a large outdoor mall with lots of restaurants right down the street. It includes a Target and grocery store. It was very convenient. The resort is about 25 minutes north of Phoenix and Scottsdale. It is about 2 hours from Sedona. The only thing I would note is that usually you have access to the JW Marriott down the street. It has a lazy river and three waterslides. We were not able to use that property because it was during the Spring Break. You can get around it by purchasing passes on Resort Day Pass. It might be worth calling ahead if you want to use the Marriott to ensure it isn’t during a blackout period.

Stayed Mar 9, 2024Our family stayed here for our 'base camp' for our AZ spring break (Dad, Mom, 19YO & 17YO). Great place and it was better than expected. The connection to the JW was very nice. The Canyon Villas is better geared toward younger children (15 or younger). Spacious accommodations and in a great area with plenty of nice restaurants and shops. We would stay here again

Stayed Mar 10, 2024We were seeking a place to relax, play golf, and be close to good dining. The Marriott Villas checked every box! We enjoyed these connected rooms and would easily book again in the future.

Stayed Feb 3, 2024Rented this from VRBO and VacationCandy managed the rental. Even though it is listed on VRBO this VacationCandy is your point person. They confirmed the reservation, and then told us 48hours prior to arriving that it was no longer available, and they had some different dates that were not quite the same and also a higher price point. It felt like a bait and switch operation. I then wrote another note asking how this could all be happening since our reservation was confirmed. Not a good situation for our family since this is the week of the WMO golf tourney, the busiest week of the year in PHX, and we now had no place to stay and we were within 2 days of arrival. It took them several hours to respond. In the meantime, we were in scramble mode, and found another place to rent. Vacationcandy then emails us back and tells me there has been some type of confusion and our original reservation stands. I told them we do not want it since they had told us it was cancelled and we had to find another place. They then have the audacity to tell us will be on the hook and would owe them for the entire week of the rental. They eventually agree to give us 50% back for the week. At this point, I agree to swallow the penalties from the other rental since it is less money, and vacationcandy will not give our money back.Thy are extremely rude, intimidating, and difficult to work with. NEVER EVER RENT FROM THESE CROOKS or list your condo with them. They blame everything on the owner too.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We absolutely love staying at this resort. It’s perfect for our family of 5. We have teenage sons that love to hike around the area and play basketball and baseball around the grounds of the resort and a two year old that loves the baby pool and splash pad. Everyone at the resort is so friendly and helpful. We definitely plan on returning next year! The desert ridge area has great restaurants and amenities and feels less crowded than other areas in and around Phoenix.
