Stayed Mar 28, 2026This is a great place to stay when in boston. Quite a bit cheaper than staying closer to downtown and alot nicer than staying in a hotel for 2x the price. Uber rides to downtown, Fenway and TD Gardens were about $30 and took about 20 min to get there. We were in room 6 and it was really big. Queen size bed but also room to walk around and lay out our stuff for the week. There is a shared bathroom but no problems there. They even provided slippers for the shower. Bathroom was right next to our room so made it super easy. The living room has couches and a tv and kitchen has everything you need. One thing to keep in mind is that this is a 3 level building so a total of 40 steps from the main street up to the top level. If you have mobility issues or are travelling with older adults with hip or knee issues it would be difficult. Owner was super easy to work with. We had a question when we arrived and he answered almost immediately. If we return to Boston as planned next year we would definitely stay here again.

Stayed Jan 28, 2026I love this place! It's great for a home away from home, clean, fun decor, close to the bus line which goes to the T, has great restaurants close by (From Scratch is the best!) and everyone staying there was very friendly. You do share a bathroom and the kitchen, so it's important to be aware of that. Charles is very responsive too. I will be back!

Stayed Sep 30, 2025Beautiful home! Loved the hisotrical feel and the bathroom was amazing. Personally not wild about the shared spaces/bathroom, and you could hear the neighbors in the next room pretty well later into the night. Otherwise, it is very nice. Just traveler FYI.

Stayed Jun 10, 2025We loved this place. It’s more in the style of a bed and breakfast. It looks like a lot of thought went into the interior design. We felt like we had the whole place to ourselves so sharing the bathroom was not an issue at all, everything was super clean, well stocked kitchen in a beautifully preserved historic home. Will definitely stay again.

Stayed May 19, 2025The Perthshire house is an inexpensive and beautiful option to Boston hotels. My room was lovely and large with great light and views. The dark wood floors, trim and doors throughout the house are magnificent and well maintained. The common areas are comfortable and well decorated and the kitchen well stocked. The bathroom was great, While sharing a bathroom can be a drawback, it was not an issue for me. I highly recommend this place!

Stayed May 16, 2025what a beautiful nest of a room on the third floor. Spacious enough and the bed was VERY comfortable with really lovely sheets, too. And for sharing a bathroom, it was a beautiful bathroom to share with a great shower. I could really hear the people other rooms when I was in the halls, but in our room, I didn't hear them at all. It's in a quiet neighborhood and we loved the grounds, the kitchen and living room, the small patio, and the area.

Stayed Dec 29, 2024The Pershire house was a charming and cozy place to stay. I was there for two weeks in January 2025. I stayed in the Sanctuary Room on the third floor. It was spacious, had a firm mattress excellent for sleeping, and an sitrimg area. The shared bathroom was clean and well-appointed with a lovely modern glass walled shower and nice tiles. The shared kitchen had all the amenities needed to cook (which I did a lot). Lovely living and dining room and washer/dryer also available. The house has beautiful wood paneling and details while also having great modern amenities. The host Charles was very responsive to questions. It is also very well located to get to other places in the Boston area. Ubers were inexpensive and easily available for a trip I took to Concord and some other places. There is a great YMCA down the street which I joined for 53 for the month. It has a large clean swimming pool, yoga and other classes and a nice clean gym. This was an unexpected bonus.I highly recommend the Pershire House.

Stayed Sep 17, 2024I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The house is so full of character. It feels like living in a famous Massachusetts home filled with history. Everything is available to you. I appreciated the fridge to store my beer. The busts inside add a lot of character. I thought I wouldn't like the idea of a shared bathroom, but the other guests were so nice. I felt so welcomed. I will try to stay here if I ever come back to Massachusetts.
