Stayed Oct 4, 2025We had a great stay at the Wandering Bear. While the road coming in isn’t for the faint of heart, and we were happy to say we never met an oncoming vehicle, once we arrived at the house, it was very well worth it. This was easily the most well stocked unit we have ever rented, from the kitchen to the bathroom, everything was very well thought out. There was no lack of utensils or kitchen needs, they even supplied cute disposable coffee cups (along with a multitude of coffees, teas, and creamers). If you’re traveling with littles, there was a pack’n play, high chair, and booster seat, along with many games, and some outdoor toys.The hot tub was in excellent condition, very clean and well kept, as well as the fire pit. I will say the trees have grown up a bit and block a little of the views but not enough to dock the ratings and I also don’t know how they would even manage to trim them with the slope of the mountain.The host was very accessible through text, and even gave us a heads up before check-in of some issues with the microwave, offering to bring in a replacement if needed. Cute decor, cute setup, we would definitely come back to the Wandering Bear as well as recommend it to others.

Stayed Sep 26, 2025Very welcoming, quiet location as remote as you could want! Road is extremely rough, so be prepared to take it slow if you don’t want to damage a low riding car.
