Be sure to call the guest service phone numbers from a place with cellphone signal BEFORE you get to the guest house because if the door code doesn‘t work you‘ll have to drive a few miles to find a cell signal. It happened to us both days. We were finally given the code to the key lock box outside the door. Put it back immediately upon opening the door because it automatically locks and you may find yourself locked out. We had a good time in the Redwood Suite. Beautiful, quiet, comfortable. Well tended, clean, with local art. Beautiful surrounding with well kept tall redwoods, a little creek and pond below the house. Hot Tub is working. We would rent it again in a heartbeat. Be sure to read the guest instructions. It gives you a local phone number for help with the unit. Upon entering we pulled an air freshener out of the outlet and kept it outside because the smell was overwhelming. Other reviews stated that the walls between bedrooms are very thin so we slept on the king size pull out sofa bed. Mattress was surprisingly comfortable. Kitchen is stocked well. Fridge with ample freezer space and most of what’s needed to cook a meal. Bring your own oil and spices and coffee filters for small coffeemaker basket filter. Wifi works with the plug-in extender. Two small, pretty bathrooms with shower. Both tanks leaked and refilled every few minutes, the noise kept me awake for quite a while. None of the caveats would keep me from renting the suite again.
This home was truly amazing, and far exceeded our expectations! Everything about it was thoughtfully and beautifully done: the decor is beautiful, the spaces are arranged to be cozy and lovely, and the artwork is breathtaking (as is the natural beauty surrounding the home). The furniture was comfortable, the hot tub was relaxing, the porch offers stunning views of trees, flowers, a creek, and glimpses of the ocean. The location is perfect, too: outside of town, but close to so many wonderful places! Just minutes from a great coffee shop and market in Anchor Bay, several gorgeous beaches, the lovely towns of Gualala (with river, beach, hiking trails, art studios, great restaurants, and an amazing bookstore), and Point Arena (with a historic port district, 153-year-old lighthouse, and African wildlife preserve). Our whole family loved it, and we can't recommend it highly enough!
The Havenscreek Redwood Suite is listed as a paradise--a lofty term, but well-deserved! Spacious, luxurious, very clean and well cared-for. Noise isolation between this suite's bedroom and the adjacent one is somewhat lacking, but that's a small caveat that can be remedied with earplugs. The bed (with lots of pillows) is very comfortable, the kitchen is very nice, the living room is fun to lounge around in, the bathroom sinks are gorgeous, and of course the location is wonderful (and just minutes from the beach or downtown Gualala), and there's even a hiking trail right on the property. I hope this place is available next time we vacation on the north coast!
Well appointed condo in a triple wide trailer building. No oven, two burner glass stovetop. Good mattress, but linens could use a deep cleaning or replacement. (They reeked of smoke and I’m allergic). Hot tub out on deck facing redwoods. Good location near hiking/beach trails.
This is a beautiful suite! The location along the creek is stunning! We were the only ones here and so did not have to share.
Visiting forArt Studio Tour, so central location for Pt Arena and Gualala….. and hiking and activities. Loved the art vibe throughout. Could do tiny hike thru redwoods on property. Close to beach. Could cook or restaurants fairly close. Loved hotub w redwoods and stars. Comfy. Just be aware charges for cleaning, etc makes a 160 dollar suite really 250/ night depending on nights spent.
Large living room provides for smoke space to work, watch tv and eat. The outdoor shower and hot tub connects you to nature.
Nice place at a good value! The only negative is that you can hear EVERYTHING going on next door... My wife & I stayed for Valentines day weekend & enjoyed the decently provisioned kitchen, hot tub & general comfort of the place. The surrounding area is absolutely beautiful. We are hikers & enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. The two-room, two bathroom place is part of a three unit building, with a shared back deck and shared hot tub. The kitchen was pretty decent, but FYI- no oven. We got by OK using a Dutch oven on the two burner electric stovetop. Decent size fridge, plates, glasses, silverware & a fair amount of accoutrements for cooking. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Kim, who lives right behind the three unit building, as she was meticulously going through the unit just before we arrived to make sure things were 'just-so' following the cleaning crew, in case they missed anything- you could tell she really cares about getting it right. About the neighbor noise- when I say you can hear everything next door, I mean we could hear EVERYTHING going on with our frisky neighbors... My wife & I are seasoned travelers & hey- it was Valentines day, so we just laughed it off- but it is important to note & honestly it's so bad, I would suggest the owner consider looking into insulating the walls with injectable foam insulation. The only other suggestion I would make is that adding either a gas grill or at least an area where it was OK to use a portable grill would be a nice touch. I brought a portable grill, but held off on using it when I realized I had missed the note that use of charcoal grills was not allowed anywhere on the property. All in all I would stay again, but maybe with earplugs... :)
We loved staying in this place! It was very quiet and peaceful.
Cute place surrounded by redwoods with a great little creek in the back. We had a great stay. The place was clean and well-furnished. Probably not the best choice if you intend to cook. Also, please note that the unit is attached to two others. We were able to clearly hear our neighbors on the other side of the wall.
