The Carriage House dates from the 1920’s and features a bedroom with an antique double four-poster bed, full bathroom with old-fashioned pedestal tub with safety bar and shower, beautifully updated kitchen, a private cafe style screened-in porch overlooking a gorgeous view of Zen Gardens and much more!

The charm and grace of this intimate cottage is lovely. The vibrant décor blends past and present with unique elegance. You can easily imagine a tasseled buggy pulling up as you enjoy the pleasure of modern conveniences.

The year round natural beauty framing our adorable Carriage House is unparalleled in Winchester. More than two acres of exquisite Zen Gardens are just a few steps away. Guests love spending time on our screened in porch, taking in a view that brings the blooms of the season to your doorstep as you sip your morning Organic coffee or tea in fresh robes that we provide for every guest. In truth, the photographs of the Gardens on this site, simply don’t do it justice. It is a one-of-a-kind experience.

Our Organic herbal and veggie garden – where guests are welcome to choose fresh herbs/veggies for their dining pleasure – offers another special treat.

We have an outdoor fire pit area, ideal for star gazing that just can’t be appreciated in the downtown lights. Or you could take the time to sit by our fire pit with a warm mug of Organic coffee or Organic tea while listening to the soft sounds of the season, lifetime memories with that special someone are created.

We also welcome business travelers wanting more than an efficiency apartment as well as lone adventurers. Every time of the year is special in this sanctuary from the busy world.

As the Carriage House is a delicately crafted setting, guests must be at least 21 years old.

The guest house offers the simplicy of living. While Wifi may be available, there is no TV on site. You are more than welcome to bring your own devices and stream what you like if you need more stimulation.

We are so glad we stumbled upon this gem! Looking to find a place to celebrate our anniversary & get away (long overdue), I found Ramana’s garden paradise. It is a quaint 1920’s carriage house with beautiful hardwood floors, a pedestal tub, fully stocked kitchen & large screened in porch for relaxing on those gorgeous evenings! Upon arrival, Ramana greeted us with our keys & a tour of the whole property, including where we would be staying, showing us where we could find organic veggies & herbs in her garden if we wished to use them! She encouraged us to walk through the many gardens and courtyards of the whole property during our stay & we did-- we felt so at peace and truly relaxed, we ended up never leaving the property the whole weekend!! Every little detail was so personally thought out, from the handmade soaps in the bathroom to the organic fruits & coffees in the kitchen. She even had the table set beautifully with fresh flowers, a bottle of wine & chocolate to celebrate our anniversary! We spent our Saturday evening by the fire pit, which she had prepared and waiting for us, with fresh sage from her garden. It truly was a magical weekend and we will definitely be back again!

We loved our weekend in Winchester! The downtown area was great, we picked apples at an orchard and went horseback riding too! The carriage house was nice as well. Everything was very clean. It is a no shoe home so pack slippers. There is no TV which was nice to disconnect. We met the owner to get the keys which I had never done with any prior rental through VRBO. Ramana showed us around the house, the grounds, and the vegetable and herb garden. She also left us firewood with fresh sage to burn in the fire pit on both nights we were there. The parking is tight for a full sized truck, but not impossible. The shower is tight for folks that are tall too, but again, not terrible. The bed is a full which was also tight for two tall folks, but we knew that going in so it was just extra snuggly and it was comfortable. We had everything we needed and Ramana was just as sweet as can be! She even set a nice table setting with rose petals for our anniversary! If you drink coffee or tea, she has a wide assortment of both! The screened porch was a great spot to just relax too! I would recommend this property for a couple or single person looking for a charming spot to spend time.

The beautiful land, gorgeous decor, and wonderful little touchs (like homemade soap and fresh organic fruit and coffee) made this an absolutely ideal romantic getaway spot. We were confused about the check-out time, and despite inconveniencing our hosts, they were always lovely!

The carriage house was a charming place to stay. It was pleasant to sit on the screen porch and watch the birds. The house was nicely appointed with everything needed for your stay. The owner also provided some special extras for her guests.

My husband and I stayed at the carriage house to be near Shenandoah National Park and to celebrate our 3rd anniversary. Ramana was a very gracious host, and was great at communicating all the amenities available to us. The property has lots of mature trees and gardens makinf it a very peaceful place that has a lot of privacy. We really enjoyed sitting out by the fire in the evening. We had a fantastic time at the cottage and would stay again if we come back to Winchester!

Winchester was such a lovely town with so many things to do and see. We enjoyed coming home to the cottage each night with its screened-in patio and relaxing view of flowers and shade trees. The cottage was cozy and clean with plenty of linens and staples. I would stay here again, the location was excellent.

This gem of a home has all that you could need. Comfortable and quiet on the edge of a large garden. We enjoyed our stay and left fully recuperated.

This beautiful, private, and peaceful cottage is not for everyone. It was great for me and my best friend. There is no TV, no radio, no microwave - instead it offers quiet - to be used as one needs - probably not so much for the fun and party seeker. It was perfect for me and friend - we decided to move in together on a test run and she came home with me. The quiet space gave us time to talk to each other and to really listen to each other - could be the start of something good. On the other hand, one potentially dangerous finding was the bath and shower situation. At least for older guests, it was quite difficult to get into the bath which was also the shower and the shower was not so good. I believe the owners have been alerted to this - they seem to be really wonderful people and I'm sure they will check into it.
