Wonderful stay, with lovely hosts. Private, peaceful and the perfect country getaway!

Brian and Val and their family are very helpful and friendly hosts. The house is set in a picturesque garden that creates such a peaceful and beautiful atmosphere. Inside, everything is very clean and homely, making us feel right at home. We were particularly impressed that everything used in the house has been chosen with environmental friendliness in consideration. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Brian & Valerie are such friendly and wonderful hosts. The cabin was amazing!!! The peaceful surroundings, view and lots of cute animals and birds to keep us entertained. All the places we wanted to see were not far to drive to. We had a very relaxing and pleasant stay.

We had an amazing night at the cottage, it was very peaceful and private, just what we wanted for a bit of time away. It was a really hot day and it would have been nice to use the deck a bit more, maybe a table with an umbrella for some shade would have been nice for the afternoon, and possibly a BBQ available for cooking outside would be my only suggestions, but we highly recommend the cottage, Valerie and Brian are great to deal with, we would love to stay again in the future.

Lovely welcome by our hosts with a box of chocolates to celebrate the New Year, a nice touch, as was the milk in the fridge!! As the name suggests this IS a hideaway and a blessing to come and sit and relax away from life's hustle and bustle. Nice kitchen, bathroom and comfy bed. No curtains in lounge area so morning sun was a bit bright and warmed up the room quickly but the air con helped. Would love to visit again later in the year as it is only 2hours from Auckland.

This home was perfectly equipped for a relaxing stay with friendly and attentive owners. The location is beautiful with hiking nearby. We would definitely return!

Great location if you want a quiet getaway. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Close to a huge variety of bushwalks and only half an hour from Te Awamutu for various activities. Definitely recommend.

Great place to escape busy lives, relax in the countryside, listen to the birds and trees in the wind, chill on the large deck or in the light open-plan living space, very friendly hosts. Would definitely book again.

Secluded but not private, inside/outside flow, potentially outside overflowed too much into the inside, lovely host, building is great for family to completely disconnect from technology, books provided, but take your own games/cards etc, overall amenities were clean potentially due for a autumn deep clean, , setup for the one night stay, consider take own extra comforts.if multiple night stay.

We enjoyed everything about our stay, from the moment we were welcomed by our generous hosts. Spectacular views, a garden oasis complete with rabbits and chooks, peaceful comfortable, a place we look forward to returning to.

The hosts were wonderful and very accommodating and surprised us with some of their organic orchard apples and a jar of plum jelly, the cottage was beautiful with amazing views and it was close to the 2 walking tracks we went on, thank you Valerie and Brian

Gorgeous unit with everything required. The bed was super comfortable and wow the shower was amazing. In the kitchen was everything needed to prepare meals and even some herbs and spices. The stars were spectacular with the darkness around. So much better than watching tele. Waking to the bird song starts the day perfectlyWould thoroughly recommend if you want a stay away from the busy world.

This was an awesome fine, both Brian and Valerie were lovely, it is a beautiful property and location, perfect for a getaway. Close enough to cities and townships, and close to walks, this really was a great stay at a great price.

This amazing rental is such a peaceful and private place to stay. We loved that it was off the beaten track and in such a beautiful surrounding. The accommodations had everything we needed. And the hosts, Brian and Val, were so kind and friendly. They gave us privacy, but were available to ask any question. We even enjoyed a short evening visit with tea and crackers with them. We had three adults in our party, and we loved everything about this rental. If you're looking for something special out in the countryside, we highly recommend this place!
