Now back in use as a main residence, the house, built by the canon Noble Nicolas in 1530 and now the home of the owners, is built with the remains of the feudal town. The House of Noble Nicolas comprises two 16th-century dwellings. Situated on the ramparts in Avallon's very quiet historic quarter, this ancient garden offers a panoramic view of the Morvan. The garden and swimming pool are available for use. Numerous restaurants in the immediate vicinity. In particular Les Cordois Autrement, the most famous. Museums and exhibitions are within walking distance, as is the adjoining Collegiate Church of Saint Lazare. Vézelay is around ten kilometres away.

The Julie room (40 m²) is located on the first floor of the turret dwelling, accessible by a spiral staircase. It has a double bed (160cm wide) and a renovated shower room. There is a sitting area and a convertible armchair (bedding extra). Possibility of a second single bed. A full breakfast (bread, cereals, dairy products, home-made jam, fruit, etc.) is served in the guest dining room. The decoration combines objects from the past with the comfort of a complete renovation.

Everything was perfect. In the early morning, two squirrels wished us a good day. And the region is rich in beautiful surprises, even if only within a circle of around twenty kilometers. A great stay.

A wonderful tranquil location in a rustic house. Great breakfast and very attentive and helpful hosts who were only too happy to help make our stay highly enjoyable. The town is exquisite and the surrounding countryside perfect for walking and sightseeing. Highly recommend B&B to spend some quality time at.

Very nice spot in the historic town of Avallon. Free parking around the corner. The pictures on HomeAway don't do the room justice, it's much nicer in real life! Beautiful, calm garden with a nice swimming pool and great views. Friendly hosts, very nice breakfast every day on our own chosen time. It's only small things that aren't great. The WiFi connection in our room wasn't that good, and if you're tall (185cm+) the bed probably will be too short. Other than that? Nothing much!

The property overlooks a luscious forrest, the house is full of charm, history and literature (if you love being surrounded by books, then this is it) The owner, Chantal, is kind, discreet and caring. I woke up each morning with breakfast served (even though it is not a Bed & Breakfast) a luminous view and the sound of nature surrounding me. A wonderful and unique experience...
