The Country House, situated on the hill of Bargiano, is an integral part of an area of more than 10 hectares of unspoilt nature, surrounded by olive groves, vineyards and wheat.
It was originally a manor house, in which bread was baked in the large wood-burning oven that is still there, for all the farmhouses in the area.
Carefully restored to its original splendour, with the recovery of ancient materials combined with all modern comforts, the structure is entirely in exposed stone, wooden floors, terracotta tiles and artistic handmade floors. Inside, exposed stone walls surround fireplaces lined with handmade terracotta tiles.
It is spread over two floors. On the lower floor, in addition to the kitchen and a dining room, there is a living area with a fireplace and a billiard room. The upper floor is divided into seven double bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, five of which also have a small living room.
An additional small flat, equipped with a double bed, masonry kitchenette and private bathroom, is located on the ground floor, garden/pool side.
The entire house is equipped with heating, TV and Wi-Fi. Guests have at their disposal a wonderful 16 x 8 metre swimming pool.
What was once a place of gathering and deep rural culture has now become an oasis of tranquillity surrounded by greenery, overlooking one of Umbria's most evocative panoramas.
It is the ideal starting point for nature walks, mountain bike excursions or horse riding. There are numerous places of historical and cultural interest that can be reached in a day trip: Orvieto, Todi, Assisi, Civita di Bagnoregio, Pienza, Perugia, and various natural spa resorts such as Bagni San Filippo.
The Country House is located near the protected area of Monte Peglia and Selva di Meana and can be reached from the A1 motorway exit of Fabro just 14 km away along a stretch of unpaved provincial/municipal road.

This is a very substantial property, surrounded by the most stunning scenery in the Umbrian hills. Importantly for us, it has a private pool which is large (18m) and deep. Walking in the surrounding area offer the most magnificent views. There is a large and very-well-equipped kitchen. In Fabro the local supermarket offers delicious local produce, fresh egg pasta, beautiful vegetables and herbs, good cheeses and an extensive choice of Umbrian and Italian wines. Near to the round-a-bout is a high quality butcher offering steaks, veal, lamb, free-range corn-fed chicken cut to order. The villa’s garden is delightful with olive trees, pines, large bushes of aromatic rosemary and lavender. We were looked after wonderfully by Luca and Raffaella, daughter of one of the owners, who were very friendly, considerate and helpful. They stayed in to clean, tend to the pool etc. We drove from Rome airport in under two hours. The villa is easy to find following directions from google maps. We had a problem with our hire car at one point and this was promptly and inexpensively fixed by the impressive local mechanic in Fabro who came out at an hour’s notice. Just two of us stayed in this very large property - and we had a wonderful time, relaxing by ourselves. However it would also be perfect for a large group. We hope to return.
