Silver City, New Mexico
One large bedroom has a queen-sized bed and the smaller one has a double bed and an outside entrance. They share a bathroom with a shower. All towels and sheets are furnished. The living area includes a cozy living room and a fully-equipped kitchen with eating area. There's a washer and dryer in the bathroom. The larger bedroom and the living room have smart TVs and wireless internet is available throughout the house.
A large wrap-around porch lets you enjoy our wildlife and beautiful creekside environment here in the Gila country.
The guest house is situated on twelve acres about three miles from downtown Silver City. Perfect for your stay in our beautiful area whether you want to browse the galleries, shops and museums downtown or hike in the beautiful Gila National Forest about one mile away. Quiet, comfortable and welcoming.
The main house on the property also houses my High-Lonesome Bookshop with new and used books about the west, hunting and fishing, natural history, country living and local history.
You must cross through a small creek to get to our property. Please check during the monsoon season (July-September) to see if we recommend a 4-wheel drive vehicle.
Absolutely wonderful. Exceptionally clean, very comfortable. Quiet and peaceful. If you visit Silver City, this is the place to stay.
We have many reasons why our stay at Cherie’s casita was outstanding, starting with the host, who was warm, gracious and generous. Our cozy, pleasant ‘home-away-from-home’ was spotless, comfortable and equipped with everything to make us feel welcome. The quiet, bucolic setting perfectly suited our desire (and need) to relax, watch an amusing array of animals and birds and at night, stargaze. When we didn’t feel like driving the short distance to the park for hiking, we just stepped outside our door and walked around the large property. The icing on the cake that made us feel especially privileged was that Cherie found time to show us around her bookshop, High-Lonesome Books. It’s filled with hard-to-find Western Americana and Outdoors treasures. We were on a road trip and had to move on after a few days but can’t wait to return for a longer visit! Ruth & Burt
Cherie's adobe casita makes for an ideal writer's lair. While writing, whether inside or on the front porch, we were serenaded by Gamel's quail. While only a short drive from Silver City, it felt like we were way out in the country. Highly recommended!
This was a perfect place to retreat to after each day's adventures and exploration of thee areas beauty. The Casita had all the comforts of home. Loved that it was away from the busy roads and provided peace and relaxation each night but was close enough to things to provide convenient access to stores and activities.
Simply fabulous - close to some wonderful hikes with gorgeous views near Silver City, excellent host, easy check-in, quiet, private and clean.
Accomodations were great. Beautiful area and peacefully quiet. Will stay again.
The guest house was perfect for our recent stay, it had everything you may need or have forgotten to pack. The beds were comfy and the heated mattress was a pleasant surprise for us Floridians on the chilly nights. A wonderful book selection and there were even a few board games, we enjoyed a few rounds of Scrabble ourselves. The house is Close to town for any needs you may have as well as close to Gila National forest for any hikers/ outdoor exploring. There was also a whole drawer full of pamphlets of things to do around the area and it's history. The washer machine and dryer was a luxury to have when we wanted to wash up our stuff before heading back to Florida. All your usual utensils, dishes, extra linens and the ever so important coffee pot, there was even coffee already there. The only thing we couldn't get to work was the wifi, it kept asking for an IP address, but not a big deal we had signal on and off. Cherie was a wonderful host and even when we ended up getting into town a whole day early she was nice enough and very accomadating to let us check in for an extra day. We had a terrific visit and will definitely stay again in the future!
Beautiful location; cozy casita with special touches, including interesting decor, skylight in living area, artsy carving in wood trim; variety of books... Took a bit to get heat regulated, but overall very comfortable.
This guesthouse is located in a quiet neighborhood. The owner was very easy to communicate with. The guesthouse was very clean and had all the necessary items for a comfortable stay. We would definitely stay here again.
This is a lovely property with all the comforts of home. Cherie is a thoughtful host and owner. She had just about anything you could need but forgot to bring with you. That's not just hospitality but good planning. We left a few goodies behind to add to what's in the cupboard. There are many things we liked about the Adobe Casita, Gram's House. One of the best, though, was sitting outside and watching the sun come up. Then at the end of the day watching the sun go down and the stars come out. We made lovely memories and added to a lifetime of stories to tell. We look forward to our next trip and saying hello again to Cherie. Thanks from Peter and Judy
