Built in the 1860's, this farmhouse was originally known as Liberty Hall, and served as a meeting hall and event space for Plymouth residents. For many years it was under the ownership of the Jewell Family. The barn no longer stands, and the house has undergone several renovations and additions through the years to make it the comfortable vacation property that it is today. Standing on Library Trail, walk down the path and over the bridge to the Tyson Library, which has been open since 1887, and is run by the volunteers of the Tyson Ladies Aid. (Hours vary depending on the season.)

Now equipped with every amenity you need to enjoy your time in the Green Mountains. Library Lodge has ample sleeping spaces, with Casper mattresses and pillows on each bed for sleeping up to 8 guests. The mudroom and each bathroom have radiant heated floors. The renovated kitchen comes with any appliance you could need, as well as a large island with seating for the family to gather. In the dining room there is a large dining table with bench seating. Two separate living room areas each contain Roku smart TVs, as well as spacious seating. Outdoors, easily accessed thru the screen porch, there is a hot tub, as well as a Weber grill. New in 2026 is the custom sauna, converted from a Skyeshop Gondola Cabin from Killington. There is also a foosball table, a Peloton bike, as well as plenty of books, games and puzzles.

Truly lovely and charming New England home. The owners could not have made the stay easier. They checked in on us via texts and were very responsive. There is a lovely inn you can walk to (across a bridge) to dinner, but the kitchen is modern and also easy to cook in. We were fortunate to have over a foot of snow and the driveway was plowed by 7:30 am. We were delighted with the home and how well it is maintained.

Wonderful house with all we needed. Owner checked in and was super helpful with all questions we had. Quick drive to the mountain to ski, to town to get food, and has a local candy spot for the kids or dinner spot within walking distance. Loved the hot tub after a day on the slopes!

Our group loved the games and puzzles. We used the spacious kitchen every night and could watch a movie all together. There were some complaints about the plastic bed coverings. And good luck parking more than 3 vehicles with a truck.

We had the most relaxing and enjoyable stay at the Library Lodge - exactly what you would picture when thinking about a weekend away in scenic Vermont. The house was equipped with all amenities we could possibly wish for and somehow still had a historic farmhouse feel despite being completely updated throughout. The spacious family room and fireplace provide an especially cozy retreat after a long day of skiing/hiking/biking etc.! We were a stones throw from Okemo mountain where we enjoyed skiing, but were also pleasantly surprised by the quiet hiking trails and lake nearby that provide the perfect array of activities all year long. Our kids are constantly talking about our trip and we cannot wait to go back!

This house has it all, From the comfortable beds, beautiful updated bathrooms and the fully equipped kitchen. It was a great oasis to stay at after a full day of skiing, especially coming back and soaking our Tired bodies in the hot tub. We either cooked in every night or we walked to the restaurant next door for a drink and great meal. I can’t wait to return to this Library Lodge. No better place to stay.

I hesitate to share how much we love this place, but some secrets are too good not to share. My family of four had the pleasure of renting this home for a ski weekend at Okemo, and the home may have brought more joy than the mountain! The house was purpose built for a family vacation and well appointed; everything was thought out, and there was enough room for us all to have a great time together and space to relax if needed. The kids really enjoyed the foosball table, and the wife and I enjoyed the hot tub apres ski. My kids still talk about the heated floor in the mudroom and the bunk beds were a vacation treat. Personally I enjoyed the kitchen, and wish I was having a cup of coffee there now. Maybe I will book for leaf season!
