We’ve had a great time again and will be back again

The property was an older farmhouse so expect that it was very well maintained and very clean and comfortable. If you’re looking for something new and modern, this is not for you, but if you’re looking for a place just to chill out and not worry about things and eight beds It’s great. Only downside there are no doors to the bedrooms. There are shutter doors in privacy walls,, but no doors just something to be aware of.

We spent Thanksgiving at the Homestead with our family and dogs, and it was a cozy, secluded space to cook, unwind, relax in the hot tub, and walk in the woods. Hosts were very responsive and kind, and went out of their way to mail my daughter's belongings she left behind back to us.

Septic exhaust/sewer gas We had an overall ok time. There was a terrible stench coming from the back bathroom anytime we flushed the toilet or ran the shower. We also live in the country and are on a septic so we know that smell. It seemed the septic exhaust or sewer gas was so not being ventilated properly. I didn't see any other reviews mentioning it so it may just have happened? We couldn't figure out how to adjust the heat in the house. It was set to 63 (it was pretty chilly that weekend). We tried everything and adjusted the temp but it never changed. My husband lit the wood stove instead and we were ok. The hot tub was ok, it needed some water but there was no chlorine crystals in the house like the directions had called for. We even went to the store in town but no such luck finding anything. We did use it but not as much as I had anticipated. Good family time, we didn't go anywhere besides the store. Everything else was fine. We liked the old house and the property.

This old farmhouse brought out nostalgia and sweet memories of our great-grandparents. Loads of character in the quirky layout. The view was lovely, and we really enjoyed the hot tub. The kitchen is spacious enough for two to prep and clean up meals with room to spare, a real treat in a rental. We had one reason to contact the host and he responded immediately. Definitely recommend.

We really enjoyed the sleeping arrangements, cozy living room we could all sit together and have fun. My adult kids enjoyed the hot tub and we all enjoyed the fire pit. would recommend for a large family get away!

Vintage farmhouse appeal. Appreciated the areas of the home that were updated. Be aware,upstairs rooms have low, sloped ceilings.

This establishment is undoubtedly an old homestead that necessitates major renovations. Some spaces are rather confined. Being 5'2 There was plastic around the window AC unit that was poorly taped up, allowing 75 stink bugs into the top bedroom. (Could not and would not use this room.) The couch needs updated as well.

The hot tub was awesome. Communication was easy. It was amazing experience. Loved this stay.

House was very clean. Had everything we needed. Great location. Host Nick was great to communicate with. Responded right back after I had questions.

First impression? This property has a somewhat quirky layout with some low ceilings but, it exceeded our need for quiet and comfortabilty.

We enjoyed our stay very much at The Homestead. There was plenty of room for my family. The hot tub, screened in porch, and fire pit with the fenced in back yard were the highlight of our stay. We liked the privacy and quietness of the home and walking trails as well. We would definitely stay her again.

STAYED 2 NIGHTS, ALL COMMUNICATION WAS THOROUGH AND RESPECTFUL. HOUSE WAS VERY CLEAN, COZY AND JUST AS EXPECTED.

The house was perfect for what we needed. The kids loved the upstairs bedroom. The bedroom with the large bed worked great. We easily fit our pack and play for the baby to sleep in with plenty of room. And the room had a rocking recliner for the babies nighttime wakeups.Unfortunately it was crazy hot during the day, so we didnt get to explore the property much. We look forward to visiting again. Maybe in the fall when its cooler!

We stayed 4 nights at the Homestead. Plenty of room for our adult family and dogs. Beds were comfy, amenities were excellent, and location was easily accessible to all the Hocking Hills hiking areas. We loved the yard and surrounding property. Quaint old farmhouse! Owners were super responsive when we had a question. We loved the stay and highly recommend!

The property is in dire need of a renovation! Every room needed updating and repairs. Blinds were broken, the water fixtures were back-words in the shower, which was so small we choose just to use it to rinse off from the hot tub, which had not been cleaned, and the water was lower than some of the jets, making it loud and uneffective! The screening on the back porch looked like it had never been repaired, with multiple rips and mold growing on it. We have a dog and wanted a fenced in yard. The fence was in bad shape and we had to put wood at two places where she could have gotten out. The property was somewhat remote and took quite awhile to get to any destination. One and done for us!

We rented the homestead for family to stay for my daughter’s graduation from OU . It was perfect ! Lots of room and very charming. Although the weather was a little crazy we were able to all be inside and gather in the the large great room with the large dinning table and comfy couches. . Perfect for our 2 dogs as well . . We will definitely be coming back !

Excellent place to stay. It is as listed on the Vrbo website. Everything works well including internet. The beds were very succulent and clean. We loved the antique stuffs. A decent outside space to play with the kids.

This property is in a great location to enjoy a winter long weekend getaway with a few families. While clean and well kept (and warm despite single digit temps), thankful for the other reviews that let us know in advance that there is not a lot of privacy in the bedrooms. The owner was easy to contact and quick to respond.

This place has a wonderful combined living and dining area for large families. We took advantage of the walking trails, hot tub and Hocking Hills area. Wonderful visit!

We chose to stay here over Christmas since none of us have a house big enough to host the whole family. When we got there we were very excited to see they had actually decorated the house for christmas. They even had a little hot chocolate station set up with mini marshmellows which just made our first night sitting around together magical. There is something just really nice about not having to set everything up yourself that you take for granted as a kid and having them have all the extra little things was a nice surprise. There was plenty of room for all of us to spread out and be comfortable. The hot tub was amazing, something about the contrast of cold air and hot water was just wonderful. We were glad to see they had it available all year round.

The property was nice and clean plenty of room. We really enjoyed ourselves, and we would stay again.

Home was clean but we were very disappointed with the cleanliness/condition of the pots, pans and cookie sheets that were there do us to use during our stay. They were in horrible condition, either not cleaned properly or not usable. Fry pans had the coating pealed off, everything we attempted to cook stuck to the pans. This was the first time I have ever had to go shopping for new items to cook in. We were very disappointed.

Lots of space, nice hot tub, liked the dining area and the kitchen. Everything was clean. For the price of a hotel, you get a house.

Was clean. King bed comfortable but other bed & LivRm furniture not comfortable at all. Bathrm access must go through a bedroom. Grill was filthy, no propane. Cooked steaks over campfire.

I think this property has potential but it is in need of updates. The most important being that there are only shutter doors on the main bedrooms and they are off of the kitchen area. There is NO privacy. The bedroom considered the master bedroom is also the access to the upstairs and front entry way and you can’t close it off so it’s the main traffic area. There were mouse droppings all over and hasn’t been properly maintained. The back yard had an underground bees nest that kept us away from a large section there. I had a dog that we had to contain in a small area so she couldn’t use that section of the yard. It was a hassle. This was a disappointing experience and there is so much more. I think maybe the only thing we did enjoy was the hotub. That was decent. We won’t be back to this property.

The home fit all of us well, we had 8 adults and 2 children. Home has its quirks like one bathroom door is smaller than the doorway and open at the top, you have to walk thru bedrooms to get to other bedrooms and there are no doors. Home was handicap accessible, doorways are just wide enough. Dishwasher didn't work but hopefully they will get that fixed soon. I suggest to bring your own pillows. Overall we really enjoyed the space in the home and the screened in porch was great. Due to burn ban we were unable to use the firepit but it was nicely set up.

This was a perfect place for our Girl Scout troop to have our Glamping trip in Hocking Hills. The girls enjoyed cooking meals in the kitchen and eating them family style around the dinner table in the dining room. They really liked the hot tub, and the room arrangements were great for accommodating 7 girls and 2 adults. The hosts were extra helpful and mailed 2 articles that the girls left behind. The girls also liked hiking the property and being so close to our Hocking Hills activities.

We had a great time with our family & our friend's family. (4 adults & 5 kids)

First let me say that Nick was an excellent host. Answered all of my questions beforehand and came when we needed some help. The house is clean and the rooms were adequate for our needs. The table was large enough to fit all nine of us. The hot tub was a hit at the end of the day to help with aches and pains but our favorite place was around the firepit. Lots of laughs and memories shared.

Was very nice family friendly place(: If you have young kids who can’t shower I would suggest bringing a small baby tub for them, other than that it was an awesome stay!

Property was all that we needed. Would stay again if visiting the area.

We loved our stay the place was very clean very quiet. We had a great time relaxing in the hot tub.my only complaint is the pond which is why I picked the place was terrible it's looks to have lost 8 feet of water the area around the pond was trashed.It was nothing like the picture I seen it was pretty much a large puddle with Lily pad

Great value location. Easy access to Hocking Hills and Athens. Has the essentials, but a bit dated kitchen appliances. Easy communication with owner and provided everything we needed. Truly enjoyed our stay.
