BE ADVISED - This is an actual honest to goodness working farm. It is not a piece a land formally known as a farm (there are many listings in Luray like this)...the animals here are living their best life in various stages of recovery or thriving each and every day.

The very first pony born on the farm arrived in August 2018 and was given the name, Madeline. She is the smallest of the ponies and the most outgoing. She loves apples and carrots.

Important to note: Toddlers under 3 and infants do not count towards our maximum of 12 guests since often they sleep with you or in your room.

Your life on the farm
• The garden provides a variety of food depending on the season and when fruits and vegetables are ready to harvest. I am happy to share with you info about what is ripe in the garden when you arrive. Eggs from the coop are gathered by someone in your group (or all of you) around 830am with me and our farm dog, Oliver on your first morning here. Bacon from the farm down the road is provided unless you requested otherwise. It will be found in the fridge when you arrive.
• In the evening, you are welcome to gather wood from our shelter and light the bonfire. I am happy to assist you with this experience if you need help. The ponies will gather nearby, as you gaze at the stars and roast marshmallows.
• The Sunset Hayride is the highlight of your stay. Typically, it lasts 30 – 45min and covers a wide expanse of the field. We try our best to time it to the sunset, but it is always dependent on weather and field conditions. This may require flexibility on your part or an understanding if we are unable to set sail. We do our best to make it happen and have a 95% success rate.

The farmhouse was updated with a mid-century modern vibe. The kitchen was appointed and designed by a local chef and the stunning farmhouse table was custom built for Madeline Farms using the wood right from the barn. The guest rooms rival any hotel accommodations with luxury bedding, our signature `Sleep Well` mattresses, spa robes and towels. Though you`re on a farm, luxe amenities are included with your stay.

Farm Rules
• We value self-sufficiency and self-expression. Practice them here.

• We value compassion and patience and respect towards each other, animal or otherwise.

• Guest Farmers are welcome into the field with the animals only after getting permission from Farmer Tony or when he is with you. Do not cross any gates unless you have permission.

• Please leave the colognes and perfumes behind. The animals are sensitive to these fragrances. Plant based essential oils are always welcome.

• The barn, attic, basement and outbuildings should only be explored if Tony is with you.

• All guests are required to sign a farm waiver at check in.

• Have fun. Connect with the farm. Reconnect with each other.

• Madeline Farms is populated by many rescued animals. These beautiful creatures have endured hardship and neglect and are in various stages of recovery. They are home at last. All are expected to live long and full lives. Your participation in their care directly affects their health and happiness. It will affect yours as well.

Looking forward to seeing you at the farm!

There is plenty of parking at Madeline Farms. Entry into this beautiful farmhouse is through the Sunset Porch at the rear of the house.

I`m Tony, the Gentleman Farmer at Madeline Farms. I live in private quarters over the kitchen. I`m as much or as little of your experience on the farm as you`d like... While the house is exclusively yours during the stay, you`re welcome to join me and meet the animals each day.

We are minutes from the charming town of Luray and situated in farm country...fields as far as you can see. Hiking the Shenandoah National Park or exploring the world famous Luray Caverns are only minutes away.

Need to cancel last minute No problem. Guests may switch to any other available date with no penalty.

Many of our guests take advantage of the services offered by our private chef. Once booked, we will connect you with Chef Shy to discuss availability, menus and pricing. Treat yourself!
Up to TWO (2) dogs under the weight of 75lbs are allowed on the farm. They are never allowed on the beds or on the furniture. They must be on a leash outside at all times and will need to be moved to another part of the yard if they are scaring the ponies, chickens, cats or horses. The dog owner agrees to cover all damage to farm inside or out caused by the dog(s), including floors and carpets. The Pet fee is $175 for their stay. Payment will be due upon arrival.

Everyone visiting the farm must sign the Equine Farm Waiver per Virginia State law... I promise to keep you safe and you understand that being around horses and farm animals poses an inherent risk. So let’s all get along and have fun.

The dog must be crated or contained on the floor in a guest room, while the guests are not on the property.

Dogs are never allowed on furniture or beds at any time.

Family members were arriving from different areas, so our timetable was weird. Tony was flexible and agreed to early check in as long as I didn't mind the presence of the cleaning crew. I had no problem with this and we agreed to an early check-in. I arrived at the agreed time, but found the property locked and no one around. Meanwhile, I had a lot of expensive shrimp salad in my vehicle in a cooler. I knew the cooler was adequate for the trip down, but didn't know for how much longer. The 4th and last door I tried was open and I avoided breaking a window. Two hours later when someone arrived, a heated discussion ensued with lots of finger pointing at messages sent, etc. The bottom line was that Madeline Farms waited until the morning of check in to send me vital information (like which door is actually open). Worst vacation rental experience of my life. I'm leaving out some details because I don't want to write a book, but I'm happy to supply those details. My experience with Madeline Farms didn't match some of the good reviews. But, today I guess good reviews can be AI generated.

We had the best time. My grandkids ages 8-14 loved feeding and petting the animals. The animals are rescues which makes them more special. The home was spotless, beds were very comfortable, kitchen was huge and well equipped. Farmer Tony and farmer Michelle were the best. We have booked for a second visit!

Our small start-up needed a place to think, break bread, and relax together. This was the perfect setting. We appreciated the layout with its separate-but-equal bedrooms and places to join together, like the lovely and spacious dining room and living area and amazing kitchen. But mostly it was nice to be outdoors with the livestock, including a turkey that seemed to get our jokes.

We came here for my friend's bachelorette party and it was such a unique experience. The sunset hayride, feeding chickens and collecting fresh eggs, and a big screen movie night on the farm, Farmer Tony is an excellent host! There's so much to do on the farm and nearby. The farmhouse is super clean, well stocked, and comfortable. We hope to come back!

Host was charming and made the visit special for all of us. Home was full of warmth and had everything we could possibly need and want. The host had several special activities planned for us and made us aware of things to do in the community. He charmed all 3 of us girls, from 7-68 years old.

This was our second stay at the farm and it was everything we hoped it would be. We did not have the opportunity on our last stay to enjoy the farm at all. This time we enjoyed a sunset hayride, feeding the animals, collecting eggs, the fire, cooking in the kitchen and playing games. It was an amazing experience.

This place is amazing! Immaculate doesn't befin to describe how clean it was. There are so many small derails that are thought out to make you feel so special. We were staying there for my daughters wedding nearby. It was everyone's favorite part of the weekend and we hardly had anytime there but to sleep. It was unanimous that we have to return for the full experience.

Our family wanted a farmhouse setting for an outside micro wedding and we chose Madeline Farms. I can't put into words how perfect, wonderful, charming, heart warming and welcoming this property and our host Tony was. Tony has a heart of gold and all the animals adore him. The house is beautifully decorated, gourmet kitchen and immaculate. A fun sunset hayride. what time is it? We can't wait to return. Thank you, Tony!
