Stayed Jul 22, 2024Sinople Farm is quite a place... secluded and private, yet within 10 minutes of everything you could possibly need. We had a fabulous time and did not want to leave. We were 5 adults and 2 young children and there was room for at least 4 more people. The house is historic and sprawling. The property is large, leading down to a dock where we fished and launched the hosts' kayaks. The beds were very comfortable with most en suite. Speaking of which, if baths are important to you, then you should definitely consider this home. They were modern beautiful. The pool is epic and we spent part of every day in it. There were kids' chairs and pool toys. Inside, there were plenty of toys, too. Sitting on the back porch to watch the sun go down was an highlight of every day. It was also fun to watch the ospreys including a juvenile who left the nest on our final day there. As I said, the convenience is unbeatable considering how away from the crowds the home is. From the incredible Annmarie Sculpture Garden with artworks comparable to MoMA and the Smithsonian, to the maritime museum, to parks and trails, groceries, restaurants, and seafood markets, there was plenty of unexpected stuff to see and do. From the start, communication with Didi and Jean was seamless. There was always a quick response if we had questions. Already thinking about another trip to Sinople Farm...

Stayed Jun 27, 2024We’ve been to Solomons and Lusby before and absolutely love that area. We stayed at Rousby Hall. We decided to celebrate our 50th wedding Anniversary there with our son, daughter-in-law and 2 grandkids ages 7 and 4. Among other things, a pool at our disposal for the grandkids was very important. That’s why we made this VRBO reservation. 2 days before our trip, we received 5 pages of email detailing do’s and don’t from the owner. We were told that we had to launder our sheets and put them back on the bed. We were given instructions to refill the propane tank on the grill. There were other issues. It made us wonder what the $350 cleaning fee was for. But it got worse. The night before our reservation, we received an email from the owner telling us that the pump on the pool as broken, and that the pool was unusable. We tried to salvage the weekend. We asked about the beach on the property, but only received a vague description of it. When asked about our options, we were given no help. We asked about a cancellation and refund, and were immediately give the info on how to proceed. We felt that we were being encouraged to cancel. We felt we had no choice. We were given no advice or options. It was very discouraging. We had a very special celebration planned and it was completely ruined. And the attitude seemed to be that it’s just our tough luck. Dealing with this issue was completely frustrating.

Stayed Jul 21, 2018We stayed here for a week in July 2018. There were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for the 8 of us. Unfortunately it rained for most of our stay, but we were very happy at this house. We all loved going down to the dock to fish and crab. Kayaked out to get crabs from a fisherman one day. And we loved watching the osprey!!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The stay at the farmhouse was the perfect gathering in celebration of our daughter’s upcoming wedding. My nephews enjoyed the grand piano which entertained everyone. My parents enjoyed sitting out on the porch watching the sailboats go by. The dining room was very spacious for large families. My husband enjoyed fishing off the dock. Well worth the money for the fond family memories!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969When you enter the property and you see the view on the river, you know you will love it. The house is cozy and classy and decorated very tastefully. We already stayed here a couple of times and whether with a small party or a large party, everybody finds his/her spot to relax: reading on the porch, playing the piano, sitting by the fire place, fishing on the deck... We dined outside under an old tree or in the warm dining room. The kids loved to play soccer, go kayaking, swimming, playing board games. Waking up with a splendid view on the river is another exceptional experience. The owners have tons of suggestions of activities to do: visit the museum on the Chesapeake, go hiking or biking in a national park, play golf... and they are very friendly and helpful.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969This is a spot which is really ideal for a quiet vacation with friends and family. The house is lovely and spacious. The property with its setting right on the river couldn't be nicer. The location is also excellent because for all the feeling of peace and solitude, you are still close to shops, beaches, restaurants and interesting state parks so there is plenty to do.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The first thing my daughter did was disown her shoes and climb a tree out back. The breeze off the Bay made even the hottest days nice, dinners on the front porch, playing on the beach, and a house with more places to play hide and seek than you could shake a stick at. Don't rent this place. We don't want the competition. ;-)

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Our family had the opportunity to share this home with our friends this past summer. Having several teenagers on board, we feared that the location would lack activities to keep them busy. Turns out that we never got to complete the places to go list simply because the house, the location, the views, are all so wonderfully relaxing that we couldn't get enough of them! I would highly recommend this home. The house is a combination of a historical farm house with the modern day amenities. It's beautiful. The home owners were wonderful. Quick to respond to inquiries. We hope to visit Sinople Farm again!
