Stayed Jan 23, 2026What a slice of heaven nestled in Banner Elk! From the impeccable decor, the history, the treat basket, and the little farm with animals- these owners have thought of everything. We even got a personal visit to make sure we were prepared for inclement weather. One of the best places we have ever stayed. Highly recommend. We will be back!

Stayed Feb 13, 2026We loved our stay at the farmhouse! The home is impeccably maintained and there were too many lovely touches and comforts to the home to list. In addition to all the lovely things you see in the pictures and read in the reviews, we had a welcome package, food to feed the animals, well stocked kitchen, high quality towels and linens, and specialty soaps to enjoy. We enjoyed discovering the historical artifacts preserved on the property. Each room has its own character and charm. Extraordinary! Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Stayed Jan 10, 2026This home is so much more than just a place to stay. We were in town for a much needed girls trip. From the minute we pulled into the driveway, we were in awe. Upon entering the home, we all fell in love. So much attention and care has been devoted, words don’t seem adequate. The beds are incredibly comfortable, the home is immaculately clean. The best way to describe it is that it feels like a hug. We can’t wait to go back and next time we plan to stay longer.

Stayed Dec 6, 2025Paul and Fabiana's home is one of those special VRBOs where it's obviously more than just a rental- to them, it's a special place they wish to share with others. A family home lovingly and respectfully restored in that rare way that perfectly balances historic preservation with modern touches and comforts. From the family and period antique furniture to the warmth of the gas fire places, the historic springhead to the luxurious three-faucet master shower, the view from the front porch or the peace from the sunroom, this home is everything you or your family want in a relaxing stay. Our hosts even left treats for our children to share with Dusty the horse, the goats and hens across the street, for which we were rewarded with fresh eggs the next morning for breakfast.Communication and access instructions were easy and simple, as was checkout. The location is convenient for both skiing or mountain exploring. Our family has already determined that this will be our next mountain rental, and we are certain you'll be happy if it's yours as well.

Stayed Nov 28, 2025We stayed at the Farmhouse this weekend and it was absolutely lovely! It has the authentic charm of a vintage farmhouse, but with modern amenities. It is very well organized and has everything you may need. Paul, the host, is kind and responsive. We loved the cozy fireplaces in the dining room and living area. I just wish we had more time to explore outside, but we were in town for a family wedding and it happened to be an exceptionally cold weekend. We will be back again sometime. I highly recommend this beautiful home!

Stayed Nov 22, 2025Our stay at the farmhouse was magical. The house is delightfully decorated. It is so comfy, beautiful, and cozy. We loved how immersed we were with nature, the access to the animals was amazing. We also stargazed one of the nights. It will be a core memory for our family. The hosts were also amazing and made the whole experience a breeze.

Fire pit and grill with outdoor seating. Gracious hosts! (Did not ski - but the review would not post unless I entered something about the skiing?)

Stayed Oct 17, 2025I feel like this house is the best kept secret in banner elk. The house and location are even better than the photos. Beds where comfortable and kitchens was modern, although it still kept the historical charm. We wanted to stay longer. If you want to be close to banner elk town center and have access to significant sights like Blue Ridge parkway or grandfather mountain I would highly recommend this this place. Plus you get access to see the animals on the farm. The host left a great care package. They went beyond my expectations

Stayed Oct 18, 2025We had a wonderful stay with four adults and two kids (ages 10 and 8). We visited for Tweetsie’s Ghost Train and loved setting the mood by reading spooky stories to the kids while relaxing in the front porch rocking chairs. The home is full of character and charm. Our kids especially enjoyed the animals and the hammock. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the area!

Stayed Sep 11, 2025A special place this historic farmhouse, lovingly cared for by our gracious hosts. Ideal location - high on a hill with mountain views - yet just minutes from town. Lots of deer and wild turkeys around besides the pet goats and the chickens whose eggs you are free to collect. Farmhouse is clean and comfortable and has many interesting antiques and other items that add to its appeal. Well worth the stay.

Stayed Aug 15, 2025This is not a place to stay, this is an experience, and a most amazing one at that! We pulled up to the property you could audibly hear all of our jaws collectively drop. The front porch, the walkways, the screened entrance on the side...just wow! You enter this home and time warped back to the late 1800's. The history inside was amazing. We got lost and turned around going up and down the 2 staircases. We stayed here with our daughter and grandkids, 8 year and 3. If you like playing Hide and Seek...this is the place? There are 2 gorgeous gas fireplaces that work off of remote controls. Our grandson was convinced he had magic powers to turn them on and off (as his sister giggled in the background operating the remote, lol). We roasted s'mores up the hill at the fire pit. We walked across the turnpike to visit the chickens and play with the goats. Chilled hung on the rockers next to the antique wagon. Found fresh eggs in the coop and had them for breakfast...yum! You have to read the book they leave for you, about the property history of 140 years, then also go check out the family cemetery. We felt like the luckiest people to have found this hidden treasure! Not to mention the luxurious beds and bedding (it really was amazing). Paul and wife, Fabiana (and she really is such a kind human...I was lucky enough to meet her the morning we left as she came by to feed the farm, as they say)...they were such kind hosts. 20/10. We will absolutely be back!

Stayed Aug 9, 2025Beautiful historic home that’s super cozy and inviting. The updates they’ve done provide modern amenities yet you feel like you could be back in time with the stone fireplace and log cabin walls. The soak tub in the master bedroom with views of the woods was one of my favorite parts. Highly recommend this place!

Stayed Jul 16, 2025We had a wonderful time in this beautiful home. Loved the history and all the preserved pieces of this farmhouse but also enjoyed the garden tub and other amenities!! We had 3 generations and was glad for a first floor bedroom. This home is in the valley and not far at all from Banner Elk, therefore, you do not escape road noise. You even get to watch airplanes take off if you are lucky all while watching deer. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

Stayed Jul 11, 2024The History home in Banner Elk offers the best of both worlds - a peaceful, nature-filled retreat with easy access to all the charm of the town. Nestled in a quiet area just a couple miles from downtown Banner Elk, this home provides the perfect balance of seclusion and convenience. The home itself is absolutely stunning, with beautifully decorated bedrooms, living spaces, and dining room. The outdoor area is just as lovely, with a serene landscape, seating area, and grill perfect for enjoying the mountain air. My family especially enjoyed visiting the animals on the nearby farm - it was a real treat for our kids. During our stay, we had an amazing time. The house was spotless and our hosts, Fabiana and Paul, were incredibly responsive and available whenever we needed them. They clearly take great pride in sharing their beautiful home. Whether you're looking to experience the natural beauty of the mountains or enjoy the charming local dining and activities, this story home in Banner Elk offers the best of both worlds. We can't wait to visit again soon!
