Your perfect short escape: surf, sand and a charming iconic beach cottage.

A lovely vintage beach flat in a gorgeous Southern California seaside artists' enclave! We are local, and one of our very favorite beaches for the last 15 years has been Fisherman's Cove, as well as Diver's Cove. Imagine my delight when I discovered this lovely 2-bedroom flat just a very short walk from those two perfect beaches! During the week in not-summer the beaches are nearly deserted, and they're just so pretty and picturesque! The flat itself is upstairs, and I believe the owners occupy the unit below some weekends. The owners, Gerri and Art, are lovely, responsive hosts. They have provided everything you need for a beach getaway, and more. Excellently-equipped kitchen (Keurig, stainless pots and pans, full size stove/oven/fridge, blender, microwave, plenty of glassware and plates), including a pantry with quite a few staples. Grocery store is nearby w/in walking distance. Starter amounts of TP and paper towels, soap, and shampoo are all provided. Towels are lovely, bedding is excellent and as cozy as needed. Furniture is comfortable and the décor is classic beach! The best part is the view--breathtaking! Fall asleep to ocean waves and a cool salty breeze blowing through gauzy curtains. (The only downside is the occasional very loud motorcycle on PCH, but the view and proximity to the beach more than make up for it.) You're on the quiet side of PCH so you never have to cross it if you don't want to. I would stay here again in a heartbeat, without a doubt.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was bright and beautiful, with East Coast vibes, and a clean, well-stocked kitchen. It has beautiful ocean views and a covered deck off the living room, which was the perfect spot to relax and gaze out at the water. The cottage is also close to several beaches and by an oceanside walking path that leads to downtown and the main beach. Gerri was a great host and was very easy to communicate with her. We hope to visit again soon.

Gerri and Art were consummate hosts - making sure everything was working well and eager to ensure that our visit was perfect. It's easy to understand why the cottage is a VRBO favourite. Nestled atop one of Laguna's premiere neighbourhoods, the view is fantastic and the walks in every direction are spectacular. If you're looking for a funky getaway and happy to vacation like a local, then you can't do better than this delightful cottage overlooking the waterfront. Look forward to returning!

great location and host very professional

I loved the view from the bedroom and deck. The cottage was darling. It had the perfect balance of feeling homey and having all the little extras you might need when traveling including extra chargers, stables and some extras in the kitchen, games, etc. but it wasn't cluttered and thoughfully decorated. Felt so at home. We just loved this little cottage perched on the hill with great views of the ocean.

We were very happy with our choice. It was clean and cool enough- we never turned on the air condit. It was close to restaurants and groceries and the beautiful crystal cove. Everything was in the kitchen that you could ever need or want. Candles, all the books, I wished I could stay longer and read them all! The stairs helped with your cardio lol, and the views were worth every step. Chilling on the deck, watching hang gliders was a treat. Thanks for the memories.

Perfect location for a get away. We have stayed at many beach rentals over the years and this one was the cleanest by far. Very attentive hosts who attended to all our needs. We particularly liked sitting on the balcony and enjoying the views.

We love this cottage so much! My husband and I came to Laguna Beach to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and stayed here just as we and our small wedding party did back in 2000! The cottage was very clean and well appointed for our 10 day stay. The bed was very comfy and it was great to have A/C and fans in all the rooms. We loved hanging out on the covered porch overlooking the ocean. We had no problems finding parking on the street. It was nice to meet the owners during our stay, they are super nice very knowledgeable about Laguna and its history. Great stay, 10/10!

An absolutely perfect vacation. Our family of four loved the cottage as it was such a quintessential beach home. The porch/deck area with views of the ocean and cool sea breezes was the perfect place to read a book and enjoy evening drinks and meals. Location walking distance to many coves and into main beach and town. We walked to town every morning. And made use of the free trolleys and free van service offered through the trolley company. We didn’t use our car the entire week. Hope to return soon and often!!!

We truly couldn’t have asked for a better stay in Laguna Beach! Gerri was very communicative and helpful, and the home had everything we needed for a perfect beach trip! The home was super clean with comfortable furniture and bedding, and we truly loved the spacious living room and balcony (perfect for those beach views!). We had easy access to all the beach accessories we needed, and we even loved the microfiber beach towels! We also adored the walkability of this home and how easy it was to walk down to one of the nearby coves or delicious restaurants, as well as the grocery store. A quick note for future visitors: our family loves to play games and we were a bit worried about the smaller glass dinner table. However, although everything else was accurate in the home photos, we were delighted that the table has been changed to a comfortable, larger table - perfect for our game nights! Lastly, I would recommend any summer visitors take the five minutes needed to download the free trolley app and learn how to use it. The trolley was so convenient and helped us get all around Laguna to enjoy the Sawdust Art Festival and the tide pools at the Montage Hotel! Beautiful views and lovely location

My goal was to find a house with a view of the ocean in a quintessential California beach cottage. This house was exactly that. Sleeping in the beautiful bedroom with the windows open and the ocean breeze was absolutely perfect. Sitting on the porch watching the waves come crashing in as well as people watching as everyone was coming from the beach or heading to it was so fun! The attention to detail throughout the house was readily apparent both in the equipment/furnishings as well as the cleanliness. We parked our car when we arrived and didn’t get back in it until time to head to the airport 5 days later. It was so nice to be in such a walkable area. We walked to the Hip district one morning to have breakfast and go to the bookstore, we ended up sitting at Oak Beach watching the surfers. That was such a treat! Having the grocery store and good places to eat so close was fantastic. My husband discovered a great guitar store just a block north of the house so that was a bonus for him. We definitely hope to come back!

This is our go to place when in Southern California and we want to be by the pacific ocean. Park the car and walk everywhere. location is great, very quiet, you would think not being on PCH, but its in the back and not in the living areas.. those face the ocean and quiet streets. Check in/out uneventful ( that is good ). All anyone needs!

My wife and I usually always stay at the Waldorf or Ritz Carlton, but this time we had family coming with us and we wanted something that was within walking distance to shopping, eating and having fun at the beach! This home fit all those things and more. We had such a great time and this little cottage had everything you would imagine in a beachside cottage. We will be back !

We needed to get away, and this was just perfect. We have family in Laguna Beach and this location checked all the boxes. Wonderful view of the ocean and steps away from the beach. Lots of different smaller beaches this side of Laguna, so its easy to get away from the typical crowded beaches. We walked or used the trolley everywhere. I will definitely return. Gerri was great to work with. Thank you
