The large fireplaces, exposed brick walls and exposed beams help provide a sense of splendour. The log burning stoves are the perfect way to keep warm in the cooler Autumn and Winter months, while in the summer the patio doors off the dining room can be opened wide and guests can enjoy the private, landscaped garden.

The kitchen is well stocked with all the appliances one would require to cook up a feast and even has an integrated wine cooler to keep the bubbly the perfect temperature.

Up the wooden staircase are the two bedrooms and family bathroom. The master bedroom has a king sized bed, exposed beams and garden views. The family bathroom has a separate walk in shower and free-standing bath so guests can enjoy a long soak to unwind while on holiday.

There is plenty of local attractions and things to do, making Buxton a great place to spend a some time away. The cottage is only a six minute pleasant walk into town, through the park and all on the flat.

With its stunning ornamental gardens and world-famous Georgian and Victorian architecture, it provides an impressive backdrop to a rich and vibrant range of music, theatre and festivals which occur regularly throughout the year. Guests can also enjoy wealth of independent shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, natural wonders such as Poole’s Cavern, relaxing spas, attractions such as Buxton Opera House, Go Ape, Buxton Raceway and two golf courses. Nice comfy warm house with an enclosed garden and a drive to park in. Well located, on a moderately busy road. Well equipped, we enjoyed it. Not much, an nespresso machine would be nice.

We had an incredible time! Place was spacious and had all necessary amenities! Super easy to find, get in and move around! I’d definitely stay here again if in the area!

Pets allowed would be a fairer summary rather than pet friendly, while pre holiday correspondence was accurate and timely, as a professionally managed let a little short and missing some of the personal touch of an independent let.

Everything generally great. If nit-picking, we would have appreciated some clocks (to save having to look for mobile) and some pegs downstairs and in the bath room.

The cottage it’s self was great, loved the private garden, it was homely and welcoming and the pack of galaxy cakes went down a treat, small milk in the fridge and tea and coffee was also appreciated, plenty of clean towels plenty of hot water and heating, we enjoyed our stay. A bread bin would be good to be able to put cakes and bread in rather than leaving them on the worktops, no dishcloths, and no bin liners, although when I asked I was offered a reimbursement upon purchasing said items, which was appreciated, the general cleaning was ok, did see a few cobwebs, the shower tray was looking a bit tired especially in the corners where the grime was collecting, but overall we enjoyed our stay

We stayed at Wye Head Cottage for a long weekend in March. The cottage is lovely, plenty of space for 4 adults and two doggies. There is a great enclosed garden for the dogs and walks right on your doorstep. A 15 minute walk into Buxton for all amenities was great. Added bonus was the off road parking for 2 cars. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.

Easy access to some picturesque walks and sites. A beautiful cottage to come home to and sit by the log burner in the lounge. Comfy beds, and great to have a bath that was big enough to lay down in.

The cottage is lovely with excellent facilities and in a very good location to access Buxton and the pubs etc within. Takes around 5-10 mins to walk into the town. We were delighted to find plenty of fire wood for the log burner and the house is lovely and warm even in the freezing weather we had over new year.

Location was good for a short walk into town. Warm cosy cottage with welcome ‘bits’ including festive feel. Really relaxing stay. Really liked Dandelion Coffee, Khomkhai Thai restaurant and The Frog bar. A few extra bits in the kitchen would be useful, including oven trays and roasting tin, salad bowl and servers and a bread knife. Hooks for coats near the door would be handy too. Overall really happy and only mentioning these things as tiny improvements to a splendid cottage.
