Woodsy Cottage was just what we were looking for. During our 6 week stay we were able to see all our friends in the area and even entertain them. The weather was mostly cold and rainy (unusually) so knowing how to keep a wood fire was essential. The owner was very nice.
Truly a hidden gem! Squirrels and turkeys visit in the meadow during the day and you're serenaded at night with the hooting of owls in the stunning oak trees. Lilly is the perfect host. So attentive to anything you need. Absolutely, a place you need to visit!
We stayed at the Woodsy Cottage for a month while we waited for our new home to close escrow. The location is convenient to the Barlow and all of the restaurants and shops in Sebastopol. Even better… it’s on a quiet road amongst the redwoods. Very private and quiet, magical! It was a little chilly during our stay. If we didn't have to leave for work, we would have had the wood stove going and then it would have been a “cozy cottage”. The host, Lilly, was lovely and responsive. Thank you!
Woodsy Cottage is a nice spot for relaxation. I stayed for one month, and the owner was generous with her hospitality, and accommodated all of my needs and requests during my stay. I would definitely stay here gain!
Lovely, comfortable home , Lilly was an excellent host and we enjoyed our month visiting family in the area
The cottage was even better than VRBO description. The cottage is surrounded by beautifully kept flowers and shrubs. The cottage itself looked like it was just painted and has kept in a clean and neat state. A back deck that invited us to linger there for meals and conversation. The quiet forest surrounding this spot was idyllic. Kitchen very well appointed with matching table ware, pots and pans. All kitchen and bathroom supplies in abundance. The living room was a bit dark mainly because of LED lighting. A king size bed would have been nice, but we made do with a comfortable queen bed. Our host was ever attentive and responded to any request we made.
My husband and I enjoyed everything Sebastopol has to offer. The owner was great and very helpful. It is better than what photos tell you which is pretty good. So worth the visit to wine country- Pacific Ocean (14miles from cottage)- and Northern Ca. It is a truly beautiful area to visit! Warm days cool nights and beautiful scenery! What more could you want! Oh and fresh veggies sold on side of road everywhere - yum. Please give the Woodsy Cottage a try- you’ll be delighted - it’s kind of magical!
Lilly rushed out to purchase a new TV when the existing one died. We really appreciated this. The supply of paper towels, toilet paper, laundry detergent, shampoo, conditioner and liquid soap was provided. All dishes and utensils were provided. Telephone service nationwide 24/7 was a plus because cells were not reliable. The queen bed was comfortable wished it had been a king size - but you can use the bed upstairs. The front and rear private patios are waiting for your morning coffee. When you sit in the back patio you enjoy the birds and believe that you are in a lovely serene forest...Wish that I had brought along a couple of sweaters for the early mornings and Bodega Bay. We drove North to walk along the Jenner Beach. Enjoyed our visit to California especially Andy's Market for fruits and vegetables. Flavor's Bistro was our favorite restaurant in Sebastopol !!!! Next door OH's Chinese was so delicious -especially the walnut shrimp lunch servings - and the service at both of these establidhments was 5 star quality..
We stayed here for more 3 months while selling our house and purchasing a new house. It was a great place to relax and regroup.
We needed a place to stay while having some work done on our home and Lilly's Woody's Cottage was perfect in everyway. Lilly has created a perfect home away from home that has everything you might need. The cottage is one of the most equipped rentals we've come across. The kitchen has most everything you might need to prepare a meal and the bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable. While the cottage was perfect, the surrounding area was amazing. You're on a country road with horses, sheep, and chickens, which was a nice change of pace for us because we live in an urban area. We loved our daily walks with our dogs up and down the road. The cottage is very close to everything you might need with local grocery, hardware, walking/bike trail (west county regional trail) and restaurants galore. The location was perfect for getting away to the coast or exploring the wineries. I did quite a few bike rides from the house and really enjoyed the multiple route options. This cottage is perfect and Lilly was a gracious and thoughtful host. We hope to come back.
