Cullowhee, North Carolina
The Whee House offers the beauty of nature with modern amenities.
Small living at its best! Less than a mile to Western Carolina University. A great place to stay if visiting the university or the Smokey Mountains. Very comfortable space to spend a night or a month.
The space
Very quiet & private tiny house with shower in the bathroom. Kitchen/living area with television (with Hulu, Netflix, Spotify and Amazon Prime), Wifi* and lovely balcony overlooking the trees. Full Size bed in the loft. It is accessible by both an outside staircase and an inside spiral staircase. The sofa is a full sized sleeper sofa downstairs.
The WiFi was upgraded so it is now stronger, and more reliable.
This cabin has just been completely renovated. One well behaved dog is welcome for an additional $30 fee per stay. (You must notify owner at time of reservation and leave the fee in an envelope on the refrigerator) Microwave, Keurig coffee maker, toaster oven in addition to stove/oven, iron and hair dryer are provided.
Virginia, a small hound dog is usually in the yard. She is very friendly and harmless.
Caveats: The spiral staircase is very narrow (17 inches wide) but the upstairs can also be accessed from the outside stairs. The ceiling in the loft is 6 foot 5 inches tall. Reservations are limited to 1 or 2 adults. The cabin is on the edge of a forest but is in the side yard of the owner's house and shares the driveway.
Guest access
Entire cabin. Parking in front of the cabin on the right side of the driveway.
Other things to note
One well behaved dog is welcome with prior notification and an additional $30 cleaning fee due at check in.
We enjoyed the small space for our two night stay. Having a deck was a big plus for us. The area was private and quiet. The kitchen was well equipped- better than many more expensive places at which we have stayed. We will definitely rent again when visiting my bf's daughter at Western University.
Perfect for anything related Western Carolina right at the university. Everything was wonderful definitely a tiny place people 6ft may hit a few things ? Great host who told us of a new burger place not far away that was delicious.
The house was just what it said, Tiny. Had everything we needed and it was close to WCU.
Small A-frame perfect for one or two people. All the amenities of home - I used all the kitchen appliances, watched cable TV, had breakfast on the back porch. Lovely week! Returning to stay next month! This house is a half mile from WCU campus…thinking of walking to the football stadium to avoid chaotic parking. A gem!!
