A spectacular retreat for a cottage country getaway. Cottage is beautifully designed, spotlessly clean, cozy, quaint, and modern, and very well appointed with everything needed for a relaxing vacation. Beds are solid and comfortable, with fresh and cozy bedding. Kitchen dish-ware, cookware, and appliances are all new and in good working order, as are all pieces of furniture both inside and out. Water is clean and filtered to drink, with good heat and pressure for showers and laundry. Cottage is a nice blend of rustic and modern with very good connectivity, a back-up generator, and lots of space for a group of 5-7 to spread out and relax. No AC or dishwasher, but that comes with the territory of many cottages; well working ceiling fans kept things cool and dishwashing by hand was easy. Setting is easily accessible and located on a lovely site on small, quiet Burdock lake. Those wishing for deep seclusion may find it a bit too close to the local road but daily traffic was light during our mid-July stay. Easy access to charming Haliburton and local trails is a bonus. Lake is beautiful, with clean water for swimming, canoeing, paddle boarding, and lilly pad fun. Some may find the lake small by cottage country standards, but it is perfect for families seeking a quiet, safe place for kids to enjoy the water, or for those seeking a peaceful setting to relax on the dock. A second kayak or updated paddle board would be welcome additions. Highly recommend Burdock Lake House!
