Stayed Feb 12, 2026We had a great stay at the Bourbon Oak Smokehouse. Robert and family were quick to communicate, both with guidance about the house and about things to do and places to go in Bardstown. The house was neat and clean, and while there are imperfections, they simply add to the charm of a historic home. The house is within a short drive (though it can definitely be walked) to downtown Bardstown with all its shops, bars, and restaurants. It sits just far enough from the main street to be private and close enough to get you where you want to go in good time. The on-site parking was definite plus. Check-in and check-out was a breeze, and the host provides excellent, detailed written directions to everything. Two things: (1) The shower is phenomenal. Loved it! (2) The downstairs floors are marble. Regardless of the thermostat setting, you may want to take some house shoes to keep your feet warm!Overall, we loved Bardstown, and we loved staying at the Bourbon Oak Smokehouse. Robert and his family have done it right!
