Welcome to our quaint little cottage nestled in the heart of old Summerville. The cottage is a little over a century old.; and, actually pre-dates the main house. We tried hard to strike a balance between updating the property and preserving its authentic historic charm. The cottage enjoys the shade of beautiful, majestic oak trees whose limbs almost touch the ground. Guests are allowed to tour the gardens next to the main house, built by the Prettyman family when Summerville was a sleepy little town.
The cottage has 2 bedrooms, one with a king-bed, the other with a full bed that accommodates 4 comfortably . Brand-new range, microwave, refrigerator, and washer/dryer . Also, new 4K HD TV's in living area and master bedroom. Kitchen is fully-stocked with coffee-maker ,toaster, blender , cookware, and utensils for those that like to fix their own meals. However, with so many stellar restaurants in the area, dining out is often the best option.

The historic home was quaint and close to town . Plenty of room for us . It is private but not soundproof if your looking for a quiet place. My husband and I come to Summerville to visit family and enjoy being close to town for walkability to restuarants and shopping, This quaint historic cottage was close enough to do just that. We especially love Azalea park and it did not disappoint with all the azaleas in full bloom. We took our dog this time and she enjoyed the grounds. We love staying where we have outdoor spaces to enjoy. Unfortunately, we must have arrived before any outdoor prep for visitors was done, as there was no clean places to sit and enjoy the lovely grounds including the screened in porch. We will have to plan a little later visit next time .

We had a lovely stay in this historic cottage in downtown Summerville. We were delayed one day arriving, and the hosts were so understanding. Communication was seamless and the hosts responded very quickly. The cottage was clean and well-appointed. My husband was able to work in the mornings easily, given the WiFi. The walking path and garden were absolutely beautiful. As for our dog, she thoroughly enjoyed the doggy toy box. She also enjoyed exploring the area around Summerville. I would stay here again without hesitation.

Great place! So comfortable and cozy and clean. Set back from the road so it feels very private, which we loved! Allison is just awesome, what a wonderful person. We really enjoyed our time here while we waited for our new home closing! When we have friends and family visit, we will book the here!!

Absolutely great location for easy walks to downtown Summerville. Host is great at communication, and accommodating. Very pet friendly. The property is a carriage house built pre- electricity. It’s spacious and well equipped, but heat/air and electric was retrofitted. It’s difficult to adjust heat ( it was unseasonably cold) between first and second floor. Once you get hang of it it’s ok, and host provided space heaters. There are also limited outlets compared to modern house and if you need to charge multiple devices it takes a couple different rooms to do it. Off street parking feels very safe. We didn’t use laundry but it’s modern. Overall very charming, lots of towels and beach stuff provided if weather is warm. Good access to roads to Charleston and beaches. Enjoyed walks into downtown for morning coffee. Summerville has a small town feel and everyone is very friendly - easy to start up conversations. We went there to see if we wanted to look at retirement home in the area.

This property is a gem! Very close to the charming historic town of Summerville, yet you feel like you are tucked away in a secret oasis. The many walkways and paths are lovely and dotted with sculptures and wooden trellises so walking our dogs was a treat!

Adorable cottage with everything you could need! Plenty of room for the 4 of us staying 3 nights. I loved having 2 bathrooms and a washer and dryer. It allowed us to do our laundry before moving on to the next leg of our trip. The location is perfect and the communication with Allison was very prompt. We loved finding a newspaper in our mailbox each morning from Mr. George. A very special touch. THANK YOU!

What a perfect place for us to stay with our dogs until we could move into our new home. The cottage has everything you need and is a perfect location to visit all the wonderful things Summerville has and close proximity to areas of interest. Loved the gardens and beautiful trees and especially the hospitality of Mr George.
