Stayed Nov 24, 2025Renee was wonderful and very responsive to all communication from us.The Boathouse was perfect! Our family had an amazing time. The home was clean, the beds were comfortable and the extra attention to items such as puzzles, books, and extra linens/blankets made for a great stress free stay.

Stayed Oct 11, 2025Perfect location for a variety of our planned day trips. The bedroom we used allowed us to watch the sunrise, nearly every day. Owner 1st agreed to change my reservation when a good family issue arose; She responded immediately when we had an issue with the electronic door lock. Only down side was I thought my arthritic self, and dog would be able to wade into the harbor directly from the backyard, however that access was blocked by large slippery rocks. Luckily Agate park was very close. Absolutely would stay here any season.

Stayed Aug 23, 2025The house is very nice. Clean and well stocked with towels! Cute place, nice view of the water. The outside could use a bit of sprucing up. Several pieces of wood laying around on the walkway, random things blowing around. The picture of the beach is a misleading as the beach is behind a grouping of rocks. A challenge for someone with mobility issue.

Stayed Jun 28, 2025Everything was excellent. Except for the picture in the listing of the beachfront. The beachfront is actually all very large boulders, hard to access the harbor. And there was a mouse. Otherwise very nice place, great location and great town!

Stayed Jun 1, 2025Staying in this lovely waterfront home was truly memorable. We especially loved the view from the living room! The home was spacious, very comfortable, and the area was peaceful. The kitchen was well equipped, and we appreciated the few basics provided, like coffee and oil.I think with a few minor adjustments, this could definitely be a 5-star home. The outdoor areas need some upkeep — the garage doors need cleaning, the yard needs weeding, and the artificial reef is falling apart, with artificial flowers scattered on the ground. The house rules posted on the fridge are outdated (they mention firewood and a toaster that weren’t there). The table runner was dirty, and one of the bed sheets was worn/torn. Also, no shampoo or conditioner was provided. These were all minor issues individually, but they added up. At this price point, one does expect a higher standard. Regardless, we had a lovely vacation and we are grateful that we were able to spend time in this special home.

Stayed Jun 7, 2025We so enjoyed our stay. We always cook in rentals and this one was well-appointed with everything you’d need. My kids loved the backyard area on the water and we spent all our evenings out there. We also appreciated the space and thought put into the extras like bedding, throw blankets, and games.

Stayed May 22, 2025This was a very reasonably priced vacation home. It was clean and had all the necessary conveniences. It had a wonderful medicine cabinet in the bathroom, which was stocked with everything you could need. I think all they were missing was an enema. Very nice location. Very quiet. There is a restaurant and gift store right across the street. You can easily walk out to the lighthouse and find agates on the beach. Could’ve used a kayak or a canoe otherwise fantastic place.

Stayed Oct 5, 2024We started our exploration of the Upper Peninsula Michigan from Grand Marais. The house was well situated and walkable to Lake Superior. Easy to explore the western side of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore Park or go out to Whitefish point, Tahquamenon Falls as well as Blind Sucker State Park. The house had a very comfortable feel with a well stocked kitchen. It was very blustery so we didn’t get to use the fire pit or grill. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Stayed Jul 20, 2024We book an annual vacation with our adult children and their spouses every summer and I've wanted to stay in Grand Marais for years after a quick trip to Sable Falls and Dunes years ago. While somewhat isolated, the town offers great restaurants, great coffee (find Stella) and a virtual wonderland of outdoor activities. We searched for agates and Yooperlights, fished for trout, hiked the dunes, and watched nightly sunsets over Superior and moonrises over the harbor. The house is beautiful and comfortable with a private beach on the harbor that our grandson loved. Check-in was super easy and the owner was immediately available when the microwave died. She had a new one delivered within 2 days. The master bed was a bit soft for my liking, but that's a person thing. Others will love it. On demand hot water meant that 7 adults always had a hot shower when they wanted one. We can't wait to return- we're all going through withdrawal! By the way, check Fletchy's Resort across the street for mammoth cinnamon buns that melt in your mouth. Just writing this makes me miss it more.
