The cabin was very nice and clean and loved the location. The weather was the problem with the rain and strong winds. Would love to go back at a later time. Hopefully will get something back due to the weather.

We had a great time in Marion and enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The cabin was clean and the neighborhood very quiet. Highly recommend Catawba River Outdoors as well

We enjoyed this property. It was comfortable, in a great location, and the swimming/playground area were clean and fun. We're a family of three, child 10 yrs old, and I would say if she's been much older it might have felt tight. As is, it was perfect.

We left Sat morning for our day on the lake. When we got back at 7pm there was a dirty, short black comb on the kitchen counter. Someone had been in the cottage. We called management to ask who and why since we left our wallet there, they said nobody should have been in there and only 3 people had keys. We packed up and left immediately, wanted a refund for the 2nd night we did not stay since we didn't feel safe, just drove home that night. Won't be back, do not recommend

I'm a journalist/videographer and I needed a quiet setting to interview a subject for an upcoming work. This cabin was clean and exactly as described. The setting was beautiful, quiet and peaceful. The check in process was easy and everything was as it says in the description. If you're looking for a quiet area by a lake, this cabin was great!

After a family emergency came up and I was only able to stay one night, the owner wouldn’t even offer me a partial reimbursement for the second night. In addition, the home was a long walk to Lake James and once you made the walk, it was basically only a boat ramp. Very disappointing!

Overall we were very happy with our stay at this cabin in the Barefoot Landing RV resort. My kids (5 and 2) were able to walk/ride bikes to the pool, which wasn't that crowded during our stay. We also had a good time walking/riding bikes around the area and talking to some of the other residents. The cabin itself was big enough for us, particularly since we spent most of our time being active outside. Another reviewer commented about the AC not being cool enough. We did not experience that issue at all. In fact, we thought the AC worked very well. I did notice a couple of ants in the loft area where I was sleeping and that the floor under the bed was a bit dirty, but we felt these were negligible issues (as regular tent campers, we have a high tolerance for bugs and dirt). I wish I had brought my fishing pole, as there is lake access within a short walk from the cabin.

Great stay, clean! We absolutely loved the front porch and campfires! So relaxing! & close drive to Mount Mitchell and Crabtree falls! Also, just a short drive to Asheville to see the drum circle and eat biscuit head! Thank you!
