What a great place to stay! I was on the Cape for Thanksgiving so it was a different kind of vacation but just as much fun. This sweet house had everything I needed and close to town and the beach. I loved walking the Sylvan Path every morning. The host stayed in touch to make sure everything was fine. Thanks Sharon!
Location was amazing for exploring Chatham! We were able to paddle board on the pond which was so quiet and peaceful, hiked on th trails up the road and close to downtown and beaches ! The house was a exactly as advertised, it was clean ,
Beach towels, beach toys if you have young kids were available along with bath towels Rooms were decent sized. Bedding was asthetically pleasing. Beds were comfortable. Lots of extra blankets and throws Heating and AC were so helpful as it was unusually cold when we were at the cape Love the grill and easy to use Walk to restaurants Easy access to Main Street Use public access to white pond on the other side of pond Owner was easy to communicate with and helpful Sunroom was a nice private room kids could play cards in at night and not worry about waking up the rest of the house. Clean house Cons: Bunk bedroom had a closet but it was locked so a bit challenging for kids to manage clothes out of their luggage. No dresser Bathroom was oddly laid out Typical early check out at 10 can be challenging due to laundering bedding at 8 am but it saves you from bringing your own.
This property made a lovely base for exploring the Cape. Easily accessible, near some good restaurants and an easy drive to Chatham, Harwich and beyond. Access to the public beach at White Pond was a highlight - we swam every day!
Sharon was so incredibly accomidating to us, I really appreciate her timeliness in responses and overall communication. The place overall was a cute and much needed get away for us. Very clean, and really has everything you could need!
Nice place centrally located. Larry’s PX great and the Sylvan Garden was a nice surprise! I wouldn’t necessarily brag about access to White Pond however.
The house smells so badly like it has been closed for years with no airing out. I threw everything I brought out or in the wash as soon as I got home. And ANTS and EARWIGS everywhere! Sitting on the sofa, prepping food in the kitchen and laying in bed, they were always crawling on us. We were there for a week, and there wasn't even enough soap to last 3 days. After contacting the owner for MANY other issues, and getting a lackluster response, I gave up and just dealt with everything myself. Not a way I wanted to spend my vacation! Tried to move after day 2, but everything was full for the week.
This was a short weekend getaway. Very quiet and a great place to unwind. Caught up on a lot of reading and just relaxed.
The house was adequate. Needs updating though
Great easy process for a 4 day get away. Close to town, restaurants, and grocery store. Clean and nice relaxed property with everything we needed. Would highly recommend!
We had such a great stay here. Loved the central air and heat along with the beach gear (towels, beach bag, large umbrella, sand toys), and washer and dryer. The outdoor shower had warm water which was another plus. The host was so kind and responded quickly to everything. We stayed with two small children and went to Ridgevale Beach every day. It has a little pond that fills next to the beach so it’s perfect for small children to play in and look for marine life. The snack bar there has food and kayak (even little kiddie kayaks!) for rent. Close to downtown Chatham and walking distance to other great restaurants. We liked Macs the best- great food and family friendly. We almost stayed in the Hyannis area, but after visiting both areas we were glad we picked Chatham- nice houses and everything is scenic and clean. Definitely our new go to spot!
Overall the stay was great, home was clean, neighborhood was quiet, and neighbors were pleasant. The only reason I didn’t review the listing 5/5 is because during the stay the owner was having the drier replaced (the replacement arrived on our last day and worked perfectly), and was part of the reason we picked the property. Sharon the owner was very responsive as questions arose which made the stay very predictable and pleasant.
We had a great time staying in this vacation home! Vibe was beachy and easy going. Plenty of space for our family of four to spread out. House was stocked with what you need to cook meals. Grill was also nice to have. Very clean and easy to keep clean with all wood floors. We loved lounging around in the sun room all times of day. Area was very quiet, but close enough to a few shops and restaurants to walk to. Loved our stay there and hope to come back soon!
Thank you for a perfect stay. There was just what we needed to enjoy breakfast at the house and then head out for exploring. The guidebook provided gave us a couple great tips and the beds are comfortable.
Comfortable, GREAT location -- in the elbow of the Cape, easy access to downtown Chatham, Chatham lighthouse beach, and much else. Host was helpful and responsive. We'll rent here again if possible!!
Sharon's home is exactly what my family needed for a week long trip to the Cape. It's in a great location, not too far from downtown and an easy drive to Ridgevale Beach (our favorite). The bedrooms were comfortable for us and our baby daughter, and the kitchen allowed us to cook/prepare meals. Would definitely recommend for couples and small families!
The house is lovely, with great accommodations for a family with friends visiting. The sunporch was the perfect place for a relaxing morning or late afternoon glass of wine, with squirrels, bunnies and birds providing entertainment. It's conveniently located, close to town, a grocery store and the bike path. Had some great days on the beach, and at a local nature preserve. Look for the horseshoe crabs - they're amazing.
