Bala, Ontario
The property has been in the same family for over 80 years. The main cottage was built in 1999, an updated boathouse and an A frame sleeping cabin with a sitting area, deck with it's own view of the lake.
The property offers plenty of privacy; we are the last cottage at the end of a
private road sitting on 500’ of frontage and five acres of forest on Lake
Muskoka. PET FRIENDLY
•The property is gently sloped with 2 large docks for parking boats.
•The water is 7 feet deep at the end of the dock, so it is perfect
for swimming.
•All linens are included as well as a cleaning service both
before arrival and at departure.
All of the bedrooms have queen size beds. Two of the bedrooms have an additional twin bed.
•There are two full bathrooms in the main cottage and one full
bathroom in the boathouse.
•The cottage and surrounding area are high speed wireless.
•The tap water is triple filtered and is potable.
•There is a home theatre system including 55 inch LED flat screen and HD
satellite t.v. Close by boat, or car to Bala, Port Carling, Hardy Lake trails, water ski shows, area liquor stores, beer stores, banks/ATM's, and farmer's markets. Close to all boat and sports equipment rentals.
Beautiful home and perfect location for our family reunion. Gorgeous waterfront made it unnecessary to spend our days anywhere else. Truly unforgettable!
The cottage is really beautiful with plenty amenities. John is an amazing host making you experience your stay as it was your own home. Thanks for the amazing experience!
Perfectly situated on Acton Island, the location offers everything you could want - privacy, sunlit dock, great swimming and water activities. The cottage is bright and spacious with a terrific kitchen, dining area and family room. Our 2 week stay was a mix of family and friends. The boathouse bedrooms were perfect for the teenagers and the cottage bedrooms and bunkie offered comfort and flexibility. Nearby Bala and Port Carling made shopping and outings easy. And we rented a boat from Beaumaris Marina to get the full Muskoka cottaging experience. Owner JB was very responsive and helpful. Wonderful spot. We hope to be back again soon.
great
Amazing cottage. Great location, right on the water. I’d go back here again when I make the trip back to Muskoka!
Our extended family had a fabulous vacation at this beautiful property on Acton Island. There were lots of options for comfortable sleeping arrangements: 4 bedrooms in the main house, 2 bedrooms in the boathouse and of course the bunkie with a DVD player for rainy days (see ya later kids)! The large open concept kitchen/living area easily accommodated all 12 of us. There are so many places to relax; the wide wrap around deck, the large screened-in Gazebo, the sunny swimming dock or the secluded bunkie deck. No matter where you go there is one thing you can't escape...a view of the lake! Endless swimming in beautiful deep water and the kids jumping into the lake from the rope swing were highlights for us. Bala is just a short boat or car ride away for a change of scene and a delicious treat from Don's Bakery! The property owners are kind, accessible and accommodating. The only thing that was missing was a hammock! (Hint hint). We felt lucky to be able to stay here and would love to go back next summer!
Our family rented this cottage for a week and really enjoyed our stay. As noted in the description the location is a large lot which is very private if that is what you are looking for. The cottage itself is nicer than the pictures noted. Tee main living area is a large open area kitchen, dining area, family room which is very nice and the kitchen has new modern appliances with a large fridge which my wife appreciated. As it was cooler the week we were there we ate inside at night and there is a very large table that was able to accommodate everybody. As noted there are lots of bedrooms with great views from some of them. The location on Lake Muskoka was great. We had our own Sea Doo's with us which were easiliy accomodated in the docks. The area of the Lake the cottage is on has great views and there was not a lot of activity on that part of the lake so it was great for swimming, lounging in the water, tubing etc yet quick easy access out to the main part of the lake, marina's for gas, and a public launch. The owners were great to work with and very responsive to questions and reaching out to us. Check out the link to the video they have on the site as that does a great job of showing the property. Overall we were very happy with the cottage as it was just what we were looking for
My family and friends have been staying here for one week the past 2 years and are returning for our third this year. Its great for families of all ages. We all look forward to our week away on Lake Muskoka each year.
