Updated Furnished Cottage With New BBQ, spa, and Pool - small pet considered

Everything was perfect - the superb hot tub, the warm and welcoming space, the comfy bed, the well-equipped kitchen, the thoughtful snacks, the location, and of course, Darcy and Steve, the helpful and friendly hosts.

One of our best Vrbo experiences. Great hosts, great property, and so many little extras! 100% recommended.

Second time me and my bf stayed here. Wonderful hosts. Lovely dogs. Cottage is clean. Has everything you could dream of. Stocked with lovely snacks and drinks by the host. Local bread, cookies. Keurig was wonderful stocked with pods. Bathroom is big. Stocked with plenty of essentials. Queen bed is comfortable. Always sleep well here. Large yard. We utilized the bbq. Pool is great. Hot tub on site. Had the best time.

The lovely cottage, amazing pool, covered deck, beautiful landscaping, cute dogs, and kind hosts combine to make for the perfect oasis in Chico. I'm grateful to have been able to stay there while moving my son into Chico State.

Another fabulous stay. I love the private pool with waterfall feature. It was the perfect temperature . This is our go to spot when visiting our daughter at college. We will be back

Darcy and Steve were wonderful hosts. The property is nice, the pool was cool, the dogs were adorable. As a guest, you do get a lot more than you realize. The backyard is gorgeous with the pool, multiple seating options, even the grill was nice but the house feels very comfortable. It was a very nice stay. Even if you're only there for a few days, it’s worth it. Also, they're in downtown Chico. We didnt have to go far for anything.

We thought this was a wonderful oasis. The cottage was generously stocked; the yard was private with lots of seating options. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Our hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Thank you to Steve and Darcy for hosting us.

The Doxie Cottage was clean, quiet and furnished as advertised. The grounds are quite lovely, and we were greeted every morning of our stay by 2 doxies and 1 goldendoodle full of energy and curiosity. The cottage came with plenty of extra bottled water, bubbly flavored waters and foods to start breakfast in the morning, not to mention some wonderful snack items to keep us going!We were in Chico to attend a close friend's wedding, and this location was central to all of our activities. Of course we were staying during the 1st & hottest weekend of the summer season, so having a couple of ceiling fans and a Mini-Split Air Conditioner was a plus, (though I will say if you have not ever had access to this style of air conditioner, make sure to learn how it works. It was a little confusing to us, but Steve & Darcy were quick to explain once we realized the confusion.)Having access to a pool, especially during the heat spell of the weekend was fantastic! It was so lovely to have it all to ourselves!Our hosts, Darcy & Steve, were accommodating, friendly, and quick to answer the two issues we had with solutions and suggestions.If you are a couple, we highly recommend choosing the Doxie Cottage for your stay in Chico.

Hosts harken to an old school Bed and Breakfast-very thoughtful amenities at every turn. Eggs and cinnamon bread, fresh cookies and all condiments were provided! From a nice array of body washes, to ziplocks for your leftovers- everything was taken care of. Oh and a first for me, high quality, unscratched non-stick pans!

Repeat visit. Love the cozy quite beautiful atmosphere. The hosts make sure you have everything you might need.. plus more. Will go again

My husband and I couldn’t be happier with this hidden gem. We arrived and were met with welcoming hosts, well stocked amenities (including some cookies, local baked English muffins and beverages) and it was the perfect space for two plus our ‘pre-approved’ fur baby. Everything was clean, well organized and thoughtful. The bed was super comfortable. It rained over the weekend or we would’ve sit and had our morning coffee on the deck and perhaps hit the pool or hot tub. We will definitely book again!

I am thankful for the owners to open up their oasis to me. The BBQ and hot tub made the trip. The experience in one word, abundance. The extra attention to detail made it feel like home.I will stay here again.

We loved staying with Darcy! The cottage was a great size for two people. We enjoyed cooking meals, watching cable TV, and soaking in the hot tub. Charlie and Mem were sweethearts and greeted us only after we made an appearance. Downtown was an easy walk. We ran into Darcy during check-in, and she offered us a tour which we took: having a walk through with the amenities and space was so helpful. We talked about staying here again. 10/10.

This is a very lovely cozy safe and well stocked cottage. Darcy and Steve are very accommodating and welcoming. Highly recommend. Also love the wiener dogs and their brother Charly.

Been two years since we stayed, they had some small updates to furniture, and it did not complain. Hot tub always delightful, comforts of a small home and cozy. Perfect stay for my wife and I.

This was our 2nd time staying in this cottage. It is so incredibly cute and cozy. It is spacious and well appointed, and Darcy and Steve are super friendly hosts. The hot tub is top-notch. The doggies, if you get to meet them, are very sweet. The location is also very convenient to downtown and campus. The beauty of Bidwell Park is just a short drive.

Lovely cottage, exactly as described. Clean, well appointed, everything you need for a long or short stay. So charming, beautifully decorated, so homey and comfortable! Our stay happened to be during a long rain, so we didn't get to walk around the area, but the property is well located, and any other time, I know we would have loved walking along the creek. Wrong time of year for a swim and too busy with our visit's purpose to use the hot tub. But we'll enjoy it all next time we stay. And we absolutely will! Such gracious hosts. As friendly and kind as we'd been guests in their home. I just can't be effusive enough with praise for Darcy & Steve's hospitality!

Cute place. They provide a very nice stash of snacks and basic breakfast food, which is above and beyond what you get at most rentals. Close to campus but a rural street. It is nice they let us bring our dog along. Note: Their dogs are not friendly to other dogs and barked at ours, however, sharing the yard just required some coordination.
