Stayed Jul 18, 2020Our stay at Cortijo Rey Fini was one of the most enjoyable experiences we have had in ten years of holidaying in the Alpujarras.. The location is superb, with expansive views along the valley towards Trevelez. Such a tranquil place, lots of space to wander around in, with a wonderful variety of trees. While there we breakfasted on freshly picked figs and nisperro every day. The natural spring water pool is deliciously cool and clean, overlooked by picturesque arbors with recliners and a hammock! We had the smallest cortijo “Pablito” which was very authentic and comfortable. Our hosts, Mo and Lucy, could not have done enough for us. While there, unfortunately, our car broke down, and Mo made four trips to Pitres to ensure that it would be repaired as soon as possible, then loaned us his car so that we could get provisions in, and then refused our offer of payment for the three extra days we had to stay while waiting for the car to be ready! Such generosity and friendliness we will never forget. We will definitely be back!

Stayed Jun 16, 2019We had a great stay at the Walnut Cortijo. Luci gave us a warm welcome and she really wanted to make us feel good. We invited her to sangria and had a wonderful evening on her terrace. Every morning there was breakfast outside (with fresh eggs from the chicken coop) on the terrace with a fantastic view. Relaxation offered the hammock on the terrace and by the pool. Lingering by the pool was great, even with nice shade next to the strawberries;) The buzzing of the animals, the cowbells on the other side of the mountain, the chirping of the birds is wonderful - here you really get down. Without TV, WLAN and with mediocre cell phone reception anyway, which we used wonderfully to play cards. With grill and stove we could wonderful self supply, you have to rinse yourself here -the grill and the back oven were dirty - but that was not a big problem for us. Trevelez is only 4km away, for jamon lovers a true mecca ?. There was a small supermarket for the most necessary and delicious fresh bread and also in the place a small butcher for some grilled meat. About 20 minutes away there is a well-stocked supermarket with a fairly well-stocked fresh counter for cold cuts, cheese and meat. Who wants to have more choice here should go shopping in or clearly before Orgiva. It did not bother us. We were there with our 10 month old daughter. It worked quite well, but the wooden terrace was not necessarily suitable for crawling. Here we would rather run with children who can go again. The Cortijo was probably built by the Moors, which of course makes it even more exciting if you combine this holiday with a visit to Granada and the Alhambra, which you should definitely have seen. The pictures are a bit misleading, which Cortijo which is but you can ask in advance in the open and fast communication with mo and Lucy. The vita of mo and Lucy reads very interesting and sounds even more interesting in a personal conversation. We hope to meet mo next time. You can feel that the restoration of the land and the cortijos has gone a long way, which makes this place very special. Highly recommended for all those who are looking for something original and would like to escape from the modern and fast world. The last time we were not here - we will come back.

Stayed Jul 14, 2018We really enjoyed our one week stay at Cortijo Pablito. The Cortijo provides everything you need including a beautiful view from the terrace. The garden with its trees and the pool area are lovely. Lucy and Mo are great hosts. Never had better cherries than those from their garden.
