Stayed May 11, 2023This was the perfect stay. The grounds were quiet, the casita was clean and had everything needed for a simple stay. The amenities such as the pool and hot tub were also clean, so much space for amazing relaxation and seeing myrtle the turtle was an amazing sight to see! Definitely making this my go to place every visit to Tucson.

Stayed Mar 7, 2026I was sincerely shocked at how nice and peaceful my stay was at this property and I am soooooooo happy I picked a place on the edge of Tucson than in city proper (I stayed in city proper later and hated it). Each casita has its own private outdoor space, which as a traveler with dogs was so nice for the puppies. And the shared outdoor area is absolutely incredible. I got to cook dinner on the grill, sit in the sun and read, or relax in the hot tub at night when things cooled off.Plus the National Park, Sabino Canyon and the scenic drive to Summerville are all a quick 10-15 drive away. If you want to get into Tucson the foothills are right near by with tons of great dining options. The other things that was simply wonderful is having the giant nature preserve just steps away. But if you didn't want to go to the nature preserve, just walking and/or biking around the giant, well lit, safe neighborhood is just as nice. Nevermind nearby there are all kinds of cute farm animals to say hi to along the way. Despite having adjacent visitors, the properties all have great sound privacy and everyone is happy to be there and very friendly. The grounds are beautiful and have some really beautiful artwork/sculptures.THIS is the place you want to stay if you are visiting Tucson because you get the best of everything and a wonderful place to relax, unwind, take in the stars at night.

Stayed Feb 6, 2026We enjoyed our stay in Casita A. It's a beautiful property and the common areas made us feel at home. We utilized outdoor dining/kitchen and sitting areas as well as hot tub. Our dog was welcomed and enjoyed the outdoor space, too.Hosts we're awesome and attentive to any concerns.

Stayed Jan 31, 2026This is a lovely property. There was initially difficulty getting check in information. I needed to call the listing agent to explain my concerns. They gave me a phone number to contact the owner directly. The owner responded promptly and the instructions. All further communication was perfect. He even brought a hairdryer that was missing from the property. As for the property, it’s beautiful. As noted in the listing, it had a communal outdoor kitchen, hot and gym. This unit ( Casita A) has a private covered outdoor sitting area. Perfect for morning coffee or evening cocktail. The property was very clean, the kitchen was well stocked, the bed was comfortable and the shower was wonderful.

Stayed Feb 21, 2025An amazing chill spot in a neighborhood that you can tell the residents love. Very quiet with beautiful bird song and so close to dog friendly paths by the arroyo yet accessible to fantastic restaurants where our fur baby was welcome. We felt like we’d been away from reality over a month even tho it was a short weekend. Just what our fried brains needed along with some great Micheladas!!

Stayed Jan 28, 2025We love the Casita, we stayed in A. It was perfect for having our two small dogs a little gated yard that we could sit down with them and they could do their business and sniff around. Bed was very comfortable. House was very clean thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub each night. We plan on booking the Casita again next year on our annual Tucson trip. The caretaker was quick to respond to any text or question I had.

Stayed Jan 8, 2025Horse Thief Ranch was a perfect place to stay. We stayed in Casita A and it had everything we were looking for and more. It was a perfect homebase and central to a lot of the hiking around the area. Shower was amazing, coffee maker was instant, and the bed was so comfy. Also can't beat the mountain view from the bedroom. Kendra (owner) was fantastic with communication and we felt safe the entire time. The hot tub was so amazing after hiking all day. This location does have other rental units so at times we had to share the community items (hot tub, exercise equipment), but it was never a problem. Would stay here again and will be suggesting it to others who come to Tucson.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Everything was exactly as described and had a nice cozy feel. Quiet place with gorgeous views and right off of the Tanque Verde wash walking/biking paths. Hot tub was great after a long hike. Very functional kitchen made cooking during my stay great. Owners were very easy to get a hold of for any questions. Excited to book again next year!
