Spicewood, Texas
COVID 19 CONSIDERATIONS. We are committed to the highest standard of cleanliness and disinfecting procedures. Disinfecting solution will be available in the cottage. We have remote check in. The cottage is cleaned only by the owner and/or one trusted friend. We do not use an outside cleaning service. We are confident that our cottage will be a worry free and restful retreat from all that is going on in the world at large.
My goal is to make you feel like you have been to a five star hotel! It is an honor to serve you!
The Aloha Cottage sits high on a corner lot on a little over two acres, on a dead end, across the street from Lake Travis. Approximately half of the property is wooded and the remaining half is an expansive front yard with numerous, gorgeous Live Oaks. (There is one tree on the property that is estimated to be 300 years old. It's a beauty!!) It is peaceful and abounding with Mother Nature. And, we feed the birds so there are always many, many to enjoy watching!
All of this, yet still 15-30 minutes from numerous restaurants, shops and some great Spicewood nightlife.
While we are across the street from the lake, we do not have a lake view. Just down the street, a short 5 minute walk, is a private homeowner's park with a boat ramp, day dock, picnic tables and just about the best lake shore access this side of Lake Travis! The shoreline is a series of rock ledges, allowing for a refreshing plunge off the edge, as if jumping into a pool. No squishy, muddy lake bottom! (Sadly, like everywhere on Travis, we do have Zebra Mussels. Bring water shoes.) The ledges also allow for shallow water lounging for those who aren't swimmers. It is truly an incredible park, that on many days, you can enjoy all to yourself! (Note: Lake Travis is a variable level lake. If the lake is low, you will need to be quite skilled if you plan to launch a boat from our home owner's park ramp. It takes about a 60 degree turn with a drop off on the outside of the curve. Only one turn, then it straightens back out again. See pictures for a visual. When the lake is higher, that curve is under water, making the launch of your boat straight forward.)
The Aloha Cottage is a detached guest cottage, tucked around back of the main house and has its own driveway and completely private entrance. Step across the checkered limestone patio and into a room with three large windows facing the spacious front yard. The yard is fenced on one side and has a huge Jasmine hedge along the entire front, creating a private oasis. (Sadly...our Jasmine took a hit in The Freeze. It's coming back quickly but it is not yet the huge privacy hedge it was.) Newly built and beautifully designed in 2017, the cottage is fresh, bright and clean. The whites, sandy beiges and multiple tones of turquoise create a welcoming and relaxing retreat.
The Aloha Cottage has a spa quality, GORGEOUS bathroom. This seriously can not be overstated! If you are a "bath" person, look no farther. It has a custom colored, claw foot soaking tub with a chrome "Telephone" faucet set. There is a large glass enclosed shower, a huge, vintage-style pedestal sink and a separate toilet room behind a sliding repurposed old door. One wall of the bathroom is clad in upcycled pallet wood adding a touch of warmth. It is stocked with a variety of soaking salts for your pleasure. Begin your stay by melting away stress with a good hot soak!
The bedroom features a Saatva Organic Queen bed with luxury 100% cotton Percale bedding; your choice of feather or Allerease pillows, down comforter and plenty of throws pillows to sit back and relax on. There's a comfy armchair that's big enough to snuggle into.
In the same room is a simple "kitchenette" featuring a table for two under a bright, sunny window, a Keurig, apartment size small fridge, microwave and a hutch stocked with some utensils and glassware. Outside is a new gas grill with a side burner.
In the grill are utensils, a veggies basket and a small fry pan. (With prior arrangements, we can set up an outside wash station if you like to cook in and are OK with a bit of a rustic set up: hot water from a hose, wash basin, towels, etc.) Everything you need for a comfortable and lovely stay.
Throughout the cottage, vintage, repurposed and upcycled materials have been used, making this artistic retreat truly unique, warm and very inviting.
I look forward to being your host!
My wife and I had a wonderful time at this property, the owners were very kind and available for any kind of needs. It was a beautiful view and really nice area. The place itself was also very comfortable.
This is well off the beaten path so if you want to get away from things (during the winter anyway) this is the place. About 5 miles from Pace Bend Park.
This is a perfect cottage for 1 or 2. You have access to Lake Travis. The owners go above and beyond to make the cottage enjoyable for your stay. I have personally stayed here three times and will go back again. There are many sites around to visit. Plenty of deer casually walking about and birds to see from your cottage window. I highly recommend this sweet cottage.
The Aloha cottage is everything the owners described it to be.The bathroom is really like a spa experience, with all the scents that enticed your body to relax and be with the moment. The owners,Beth and Gary, are welcoming, friendly and accommodating.Prompt response from Beth for any questions about accommodations. The neighborhood park is an added bonus since we like to take a dip at the lake before we end our day.Very nice, protected, swimming cove and dock.We also admire the owners for using an environment friendly products for the cottage. Overall, it was an amazing getaway from the city life. The neighborhood is quiet and eclectic which we like a lot.It is just so comforting to know that we will have a nice place to stay after a full day of fishing. Definitely,we will be back!!!
Beth and Gary's cottage was perfect for our weekend getaway. The huge bathroom, clawfoot tub and so many thoughtful touches throughout had us feeling right at home. We enjoyed taking a dip in the lake and watching the sunsets. Couldn't have asked for a better experience!
This was our second stay at the aloha cottage and we’ll definitely be back for a third. Beth and Gary are extremely welcoming, although you’d never know they were right next door. The property is beautiful, quiet, and peaceful. With only walk to the lake we were able to enjoy great fishing and a beautiful view. The cottage is in the perfect place to watch the sunrise. We took full advantage of the beautiful bathroom with multiple salt soaking baths. You will not regret staying here, BUT you will regret not booking more time.
This cottage was so adorable! A perfect getaway for two.. My fiance and I loved the location and the drive to get to get to the cottage. The lake area was beyond beautiful and private! Beth & Gary do an amazing job in accommodating their guests. We hope to be back soon!! Thank you again for our stay!
The cottage was very cute. I had a relaxing visit and will definitely go back. It was the perfect get away.
We loved the Aloha Cottage! It's close to the lake just a little hard to get to quickly, but what is around the lake?
Beth’s bungalow is quaint and lovely. We usually go camping and this is a perfect glamping option during the hot summers. The outside grill worked perfectly for cooking outside and the small frig was just enough for a short weekend away. The bathroom was such a nice treat - beautiful and spacious. we soaked a salt bath in the tub everyday during our stay! Beth was a wonderful host - always available when we needed something. Thank you Beth!
