This precious cottage was exactly what we were looking for! I don’t need lavish, I need cozy and comfortable! This was not only that! It was in inviting and refreshing! My son and I enjoy nature and this place did not disappoint! It was close enough to convenience. Yet tucked away enough to enjoy the peace and quiet of nature. We had ospreys flying overhead singing and showing their beautiful markings. Several Rosetta spoonbills around and lots of Spanish moss covered trees! We had lots of activities planned during our stay and coming back to this cute haven was so relaxing! The porch was the perfect spot to have coffee at sunrise and a cocktail at sunset. The little shark beach was so cute and the resident pod of dolphins made for the best entertainment! Rented a kayak to see them up close! Had I known how perfect this key would be, we would have spent all of our time there, no need for any other activities lol. The cottage was clean and very cool! Joi was so sweet and easily accessible)yet we didn’t need anything), and checked on us to make sure everything was to our liking! We will definitely be back time and time again! Thank you Joi and Cedar key for making our memories so special!

We saved up for this trip and this was meant to be the splurge at 200 a night. Overall it was not worth the money. I’ve never used Vrbo but I don’t think I will again. The place was clean and neat, the garden was beautiful, the bed was comfortable, and it had a fridge and a nice small kitchenette. The park nearby was beautiful, and walking around the neighborhood it was safe, but many houses are for sale. The biggest issue we encountered was the door malfunctioned (the entire lock came out with the key) while our things were inside so we needed to contact the host. After calling, they did answer and advised us that will happen sometimes and to use a credit card to get in. After a while of trying my fiancé was able to get in. The problem was fixed when we used the deadbolt for future trips out. Communication about the problem prior would have been appreciated. While it is a beautiful place, using a conventional lodging or similar travel app for the same price would have been a better option. I’m chalking this up as a loss, and am only writing a review because I would highly discourage anyone from staying here.

It's like sitting in the wilderness but right there in your face. All the wildlife around you that doesn't care you are there. Had a very close visit by an osprey, bald eagle and lots of turkey vultures. Daisy duck will certainly keep you entertained. The place is tiny and hard to maneuver for an ADA with a rolling walker, but my wife got used to it. The write up said, kitchen, then later said kitchenette. There was no stove! Only a small microwave, medium sized refrigerator (old school, type that wasn't frost free, but worked great), coffee maker and a cool utility sink to wash dishes in. One of the main reasons to visit Cedar Key was to cook up a bunch of their clams. That was disappointing. Because the cottage is an extension of the main house it only has 120 voltages in it. The water heater is a three-gallon 120 voltage unit. I helped my wife take a shower, then took one right after her and mine wound up near the end being cold. So, we adjusted the next shower to give the unit a few hours recovery time. The Neiborhood is great walking. In fact, it's not that far to even walk back into Cedar Key's main dock areas and back again, if you're in shape. about 2 to 3 miles total. I don't know if it was us not being used to the high moisture environment or actually getting something when back in Gainesville at the concerts. We both had bad sinus coughs that kept us up all night. The high-hat screens definitely need a cleaning. Turn the spotlight off for stars.

WE came to Cedar Key to complete paperwork. WE wanted a quiet, comfortable place to complete our task. This is exactly what we found at Coastal Heaven Cottage. Our host were the best. I told them what we needed to accomplish and they made sure we had what we needed and they provided it without interruption. I can't wait to go back and enjoy the property. especially the porch and porch rules. Thank you so much.

We made the short journey from Ocala around our busy work schedules for a romantic getaway on our anniversary. We were thrilled that we could bring our two small dogs with us, and there was even room to park our boat on site. Joi was just thoroughly pleasant to deal with from A to Z - very helpful in every way while affording us as much privacy possible. Kindness like hers is often hard to come by these days! We had a very relaxing stay in a lovely, clean space - super comfy bed, Smart TV and a great A/C unit that kept up with the Florida summer heat perfectly. We enjoyed walking the dogs around that side of the island - we had never really checked it out before despite having been to Cedar Key many times over the years. We will definitely be return customers - Thank You So Much to the Hills for hosting us! Jackie L.

As soon as we pulled up I knew that the property was misrepresented. You dont really have any parking, and definitely not for a truck. The description says private, but you walk across a blue colored homes deck to go on a small deck to the shed-house. You are litterly right beside the other home. Your windows are looking at the deck and French doors. When we went into the shed-home, it was hot and way smaller than pictures look. The split unit wouldnt cool down and the toilet didnt work. When I lifted the tiolet lid, there were bugs in the toilet. I only peed and after flushing, the water almost overflowed. We waited 10 minutes for the water to go back down.My husband used the toilet, it flushed this time but stared to gurgle and bubble. At this point I was in tears with the whole situation. The shower was so small, only a child could use it. The kitchen sink was a laundry sink. There was a 1/2 inch gap around the front door allowing bugs, critters, and heat to get in. The front deck which was tiny, not like the pictures, was covered in leaves and debris. What looked like a sink hole was to the right of the shed-home with two chairs sitting at the bottom?! This place was unfit to stay in. The host didnt respond for hours, never apologized for anything. We left immediately, it was terrible. We are frequent renters on VRBO for years with a 5 star rating, never complain. But this, was just wrong and completely false advertisement and most important UNFIT to stay in.
