Birch Cottage by Salt & City Stays is a charming converted stone outbuilding nestled beside an 18th-century courtyard, once the heart of Scolton Home Farm. Inside, the open-plan layout combines rustic elegance with modern comfort, showcasing exposed wooden beams and a warm, inviting atmosphere. The fully equipped kitchen includes an electric oven, gas hob, fridge/freezer, and microwave, perfect for cooking up memorable meals in this thoughtfully maintained retreat.



The Space:

The large lounge offers cosy sofas perfect for snuggling up and watching the smart TV after a full day exploring all that Pembrokeshire has to offer. Upstairs, there is a double and a twin bedroom, along with a bathroom equipped with a bath and an overhead shower.



The cottage also benefits from the outdoor seating area in the courtyard, complete with a picnic table where you can enjoy summer evenings watching the sun go down over this historic location and the Plumstone Mountain, along with a lovely view over the duck pond.



The swimming pool, sauna, and gym are all available for guests to use, or why not treat yourself to a relaxing treatment in the on-site spa



Scolton Cottages is a great place for children; whether it's playing in the adventure playground, firing shots into the football goal, or exploring the extensive grounds and activities in Scolton Manor estate next door, there are loads to keep young ones busy while you sit back and relax.



EV charging is available on request and subject to an additional charge.



Guest Access:

During your stay, you will have exclusive access to the entire cottage. The pool and sauna facilities are shared and available for use during these set times below:



Winter opening hours (October 1st - April 30th)

8:30am - 7:00pm Mon to Sat

10:00am - 6:00pm Sunday



Summer opening hours (May 1st - September 30th)

8.30am - 8pm Monday - Saturday

9.00am - 7pm Sunday



Please note, the pool has classes which may limit access from time to time.



You can also enjoy the shared outdoor spaces, including the courtyard and gardens.



On-site parking is provided for your convenience.



Additionally, there is a beautiful spa facility on-site that offers relaxing spa days, treatments, and afternoon teas. These services are available at an extra cost and can be booked directly with the spa team.

When you stay at this wonderful property, there’s so much to see and do—whether you choose to spend time around Scolton or venture out and explore Pembrokeshire. If you’re looking to have fun and relax without going far, there’s plenty to do right on your doorstep.



You could enjoy the many woodland walks around Scolton Country Park next door, which our guests can access directly. Here, there’s a wealth of wildlife, plus a museum, adventure playground, coffee shop, gift shop, and, of course, Scolton Manor house, where you can learn the history of Scolton.



If you fancy popping out for a drink or a bite to eat, the local pub – The Pump on the Green – is just a couple of miles away in the neighbouring village of Spittal. ‘The Pump’ provides excellent pub meals and Sunday roasts in a family-friendly atmosphere.



Scolton Cottages are ideally located just 5 miles north of Haverfordwest, providing easy access to the amenities of this charming market town. The cottages are also conveniently close to some of Pembrokeshire's finest beaches and coastal walks. Within a 30-minute drive, you can reach the beautiful beaches of Newgale, Nolton Haven, and Little Haven, known for their stunning scenery and wildlife.



For those seeking indoor activities, Hanger 5, Wales’ first indoor trampoline park, is located just three miles north of Haverfordwest on the way to Fishguard. Whether you prefer exploring the town, enjoying the sandy beaches, or engaging in some fun indoor activities, Scolton Cottages offer a perfect base for your Pembrokeshire adventure.



Getting Around:

We recommend having a car to make the most of Pembrokeshire and everything it has to offer.

The property is part of a charming complex with 10 cottages, all available for individual or group bookings. For larger gatherings, you can book multiple cottages by contacting Tom and the team at Salt & City Stays. Despite the shared amenities, the cottages maintain a tranquil and private atmosphere, ensuring a peaceful retreat even when other cottages are occupied.



Please note our home is part of a relaxed, family-friendly resort community, and we kindly ask all guests to respect the peaceful surroundings and our neighbours throughout their stay. The property is ideal for quiet getaways, spa breaks, and quality time with friends or family, but it is not suitable for parties or disruptive behaviour. To ensure everyone can enjoy the setting, we ask that noise is kept to a considerate level at all times, particularly during the evening.



The property is accessed via self-check-in, but if you plan to arrive after 8 pm, please let us know so we can ensure lights are on for you!
