Start the day perched from a vantage that can yield a spectacular sunrise. If you are lucky, a school of bottle-nose porpoises will pass just off the end of the pier. A place where brown pelicans and seagulls dive for fish and wild ducks glide just out of reach into perfect landings in the small canal that runs alongside the house. Equip yourself with a rod and enjoy some of the best fishing around, or head out with your favorite book as the tide gently laps at the foot of the pilings of thepier. Weeks bay is a treasure of undiscovered natural beauty. The cozy little cabin comes equipped with three bedrooms, two baths and all the amenities needed for good living, including a washer, and dryer. The cabin sleeps up to 7. Strategically located, headquarters is just 15 minutes from downtown Fairhope where you can enjoy shopping the quaint little boutiques; or drive forty minutes south to sun on the beautiful white sands of Gulf Shores. Between excursions on the rivers that feed the small bay, you can tie the boat at the end of the pier; or dock alongside the house in the small channel depending on the tides. For dinner, you can cook fresh seafood ( caught or bought) in the full kitchen, or try one of the many restaurants in whatever direction you happen to drive. Then get up the next day and start all over again. We have baby and toddler items (pack n play, high chair, and toys) available.

Fantastic place to stay especially with fur babies. We have stayed at this place numerous times and will be back. It has a big yard for your babies to run and a long pier that is covered what we loved this trip is the updates on the house. The screened in porch which is phenomenal we spent most of our time out there just overlooking the water. After a long day on the boat coming in to take a nice shower with the powerful shower head felt amazing. We caught blue crab . We love our stay here with the beautiful sun sets to sunrises and we will definitely be back!!!!

This is our third time staying here. It’s a nice little cottage right on the bay with its own fishing dock.

We have stayed at the Sunrise Cottage multiple times, and have enjoyed every stay…only complaint is the countertops were not cleaned, and floors were not swept. Easy fix, but should have to clean when we get there.

We came to Fairhope for a family event during arts and crafts so there was lots to do but by far our favorite was when we just hung out at the house visiting and watching the water. Pelicans, dolphin's, wildlife and sunsets were delightful. Don’t expect high end amenities, but it has everything you need for a great week. Beds were comfortable and the furniture was comfy. The shower pressure was wonderful. Rustic comfortable

I gave this rental at Sunrise Cottage a 5 star rating for many reasons. Not because it is a modern, fully updated and a pristine property, but because it afforded everything we needed, we felt comfortable and were able to settle in nicely for 7 nights. The kitchen was fully equipped, for our needs. The cupboards and contents reminded me of camping with my parents. Various miss matched items, but everything that was necessary to get things done, except a bottle opener for pouring from a can, my husband drinks tomato juice like water and we forgot our opener. He figured it out. We were grateful for the large stock pot that we boiled our 42 crabs, caught over 3 separate 12 to 24 hour soaks, using 2 or 3 traps. We caught way more but the smalls were put back. We froze several pounds and they made a safe dry ice trek back home. We highly recommend giving crabbing a try here, it was our first attempt and would return here just for crabbing. We are hooked and I don't even eat it, hubby loves! Watch the tides, we almost killed several in a super low tide that occured early one morning. They survived to be boiled. For bait we used chicken necks, frozen pogy fish and fresh caught small mullet and croakers. The fresh cut up fish worked best! We had little luck fishing, it was mid November which I think had lots to do with our lack of connection. We caught over 200 fish in a prior 7 day vacation so we know how, this just wasn't the time for us. I caught an Atlantic Sting

Quiet and out of the way, while still being convenient to downtown Fairhope, Foley, Pensacola, Orange Beach, Gulf Shores and more. Would definitely book again!

This precious cabin had so much room! Plenty of room for the family to have a dance competition, and seating for movie watching. The yard was large and flat. Fish and wildlife all around! And the sunrise view was the icing on the cake. It was our favorite weekend getaway to date!

This was our second stay at the Weeks Bay Sunrise Cottage. Unfortunately, it will be our last. Although we enjoyed our time on the bay and loved the sunrises and sunsets, we were very disappointed in the property's condition -- which has deteriorated since our last visit 3 years ago. The kitchen was not clean, floors were dirty, and rodent droppings were found in the kitchen and one of the bedrooms . Simple maintenance is needed: The back door did not lock properly (my husband fixed this), the A/C filter was disgusting and we changed this, and my husband screwed down numerous dangerous, loose boards on the dock. The VRBO listing stated there was a hot tub --- there was not. AND on our second day there, while in the middle of cooking for the family, the gas/propane tank ran out of gas. I contacted the owner immediately and she contacted the gas company to come refill the tank, but they did not arrive until the next afternoon. No gas for cooking and no hot showers for nearly two days!! The owner apologized for the inconvenience and refunded some of our money because of this issue. When I spoke with the owner about the accuracy of the listing, she seemed surprised that the hot tub was still listed as one of the amenities. We will look for another house for our next vacation.

This place was the perfect getaway. Secluded location, but close to several towns with activities ranging from beaches, shopping and wildlife encounters. Everything you could need to cook, clean and entertain your family. My 15 year old was fishing from sunrise to the wee hours of the morning. He caught blue crab, red fish, and a sting ray. Myself and baby enjoyed the provided toys and chasing eachother in the yard. It was nice not having to pack the extras for the baby. Definitely recommend a stay here.

Location on the water is great. We were able to catch some fish just sitting on the dock. There is a bait store close by. Short drive to visit downtown Fairhope, Magnolia Springs, & Point Clear with some great restaurants..Sunset Pointe, Big Daddy’s, Panini Pete’s. It certainly could use a little love & renovating. I’d call it a fishing camp.

We knew when we approached the door that we had made a terrible mistake. The walls were bowed from the walls settling. The steps and deck were patched. The garage looked like it was falling down. The place simply looked like a shack. The lattice around the bottom was mostly caved in and laying on the ground. The good reviews have to be fake. When we entered, we immediately smelled sewer gas. We opened the windows to air it out. We later found that the shower drains were connected directly to the sewer without any traps in them. We inverted bowls over the drains and put bricks on them to stop the gas from entering the place. There were holes in the bottoms of the door frames that rodents or snakes could crawl through. As you enter you see a cracked beam that is the wrong size and design holding the ceiling up. It is installed incorrectly which is making it fail even more quickly. The furniture is junk. The floors are mostly original wood floors so shoes had to be worn as they are splintering. I had a hammer and pounded in some nails that were working loose. The water lines in the kitchen and one bathroom are reversed. All work done on the place certainly wasn't done by a tradesperson or even a competent handyman. People are renting these dumps out on VRBO and the renter has little recourse. Quick money is made until reviews catch up or authorities step in which is unlikely. The good reviews must be fake. There isn't enough room here to begin to list the faults with this place.
