The Story Brooke Cottage

Very nice property.A peaceful quiet neighborhood with some really nice sea breezes. We live in Las Vegas and it was very nice to sleep with the windows open. Close enough to Carlsbad village that you can easily drive to. 5 minute drive to the coaster parking lot and everything San Diego has to offer.

We fell in love with the Story Brooke Cottage the moment we arrived! Chip and Quay were the most caring and kind hosts we’ve ever had. It was such a blessing getting to know them, and the cottage felt like home. They put so much effort into making our stay as amazing as it could be, and we are so grateful to know Chip and Quay. The Cottage is the perfect place for anyone looking for a beach getaway, and we are already looking at booking for next summer! We couldn’t be happier with our stay!

We are truly honored to add another wonderful review for their place because we couldn't have asked for a better stay. First, Chip and Quay are the most gracious, welcoming hosts. They were available to answer any questions, took the necessary safety precautions during the pandemic, and always checked in with us to see if we needed anything. The cottage itself is absolutely stunning! The effort and attention put into the decor of the place is incredible — it's the perfect beach getaway and brought us so much light throughout our stay. It is also about a fifteen minute walk from the beach, and we were able to see the shore almost everyday! The sunsets, too, were wonderful every night. We couldn't have imagined a better semester, and we couldn't recommend a better location.

We absolutely loved our time in Carlsbad. The apartment was bright and open and we loved how high up it felt with the ocean visible in the distance. We stayed for about a month and went on runs to the absolutely amazing nearby beach (less than 1.5mi), explored Carlsbad village and the surrounding San Diego area. The neighborhood is so great and quiet. Chip and Quay were awesome, checking in to make sure everything was okay but also giving us our space. We will always remember our time here fondly, thanks so much for your hospitality!

The apartment is located about a mile and a half from theOcean! I went to the ocean twice daily and just walked and talked with God. I cannot describe to you the PEACE that I now carry. Quay and Chip were kind and welcoming and we simply wanted for nothing. The apartment is furnished with tremendous thought and it just could not have been a better experience. I look forward to returning to this apartment in the very near future.

My family had such a wonderful time on our recent summer vacation, in part due to our stay at the Story Brooke Cottage. It is conveniently located to all the usual San Diego area attractions, but more importantly, it's so close to the beach and the adorable Carlsbad Village area. Chip and Quay have created a beautifully decorated, cozy retreat, that was perfect for us when returning from a long day of sightseeing or beaching. The cottage fit the four of us comfortably. It was stocked with everything we needed, from Keurig coffee pods and trays for cookie baking, to extra blankets for my girls (so that I could keep the windows open all night to enjoy the ocean breeze without freezing them out!). My favorite thing to do was to have some quiet time in the morning with my cup of coffee on the balcony, while my family slept off the previous day's adventures. Our hosts offered their availability if we needed it, but allowed for privacy while we were there. Though, I wish I could have met Quay to tell her how much I loved her beautiful home! Thank you, Chip and Quay, for your part in helping us to create wonderful memories. We are blessed! We hope to visit again!

Chip and Quay were so nice. The house was perfect size for my family of 4. A wonderful place to come back to and unwind after a long day at the zoo and beach. I definitely recommend staying here!

Warming hosts from check in to check out. Managed any issues we had and were very accommodating. You won't be disappointed.

Chip and Quay are wonderful and gracious hosts. They were helpful upon checking in and available if we needed them; but allowed the privacy we desire when staying somewhere. The cottage is charming and the decor reminded us of remodels we've seen on HGTV Fixer Upper. So lovely! It has everything you need for a home away from home (including beach chairs, beach towels, and boogie board). Bed is comfortable, closet is nice. We enjoyed the porch area; great place to read, relax and enjoy the sunset. Close to the village and beaches. Would love to stay here again!

My husband and I visited Carlsbad for his birthday getaway, and we could not have found a more delightful property. This was our first foray into the HomeAway world, and we were extremely pleased that we chose the Story Brooke Cottage. The owners were most welcoming and very responsive when we had questions regarding shopping, restaurants, etc. The cottage itself was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed for a wonderful, peaceful week of vacation.
