Stayed Oct 16, 2025Our group had a wonderful time at The Loons. This cottage was very clean and comfortable.. Every room was fully equipped with our needs. The view of Georgian Bay is fantastic and we loved the private beach. The location is perfect - short drives to Thornbury, Meaford and Town of Blue Mountains, all having lots of shops and great restaurants. Sue is an excellent host. She was very easy to communicate with and she was very kind and helpful. Excellent vacation!

Stayed Jul 25, 2025The Loons was perfect from beginning to end.The kitchen had everything we needed. It was easy to access and close to all amenities. I cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay. The sunsets were breathtaking. Our hosts thought of everything and we felt right at home. It was clean and so comfortable. So thankful that our dog was also welcomed. Loved having Georgian Bay in the backyard.

Stayed Jun 26, 2025Great location minus the rocky water and no sandy beach. Sandy beach not far walk, but have to pay for parking and no washrooms were open. Amazing view at cottage, but would be better without big trees blocking view while seated on deck. Also, would be nice if there was a bathroom upstairs. Overall, really enjoyed stay and cottage,

Stayed Sep 13, 2024The property was perfect for us! We have two mini bernadoodles who loved exploring the shoreline and hanging out on the back deck outside. There is a beach a ten minute walk away and it is so close to Meaford if you need to run out and grab something. Sue and Richard were great with communication also!

Stayed Jun 21, 2024excellent host ! clean and well stocked kitchen equipment, not lacking anything a Mama Bear needs. Nice being near the water front. Great that this cottage has 2 full bath, and a 2 piece bathroom. Deck is spacious and fit our family unit nicely. Would come back again.

Stayed Jun 30, 2024My family had a wonderful time at the Loons. Everything was clean and comfortable and we loved the spectacular sunsets on the rocky little beach. The kids were amazed to discover many prehistoric trilobite fossils in the shale by the water. Sue’s communication was great; responsive and helpful. All in all, it was a wonderful location for quiet relaxation and we also had a great time paddling down Beaver River, about 15 minutes away - just spray liberally to keep the deer flies at bay.
