The Hideaway Cottage

I chose the Hideaway Cottage for it's amazing reviews and reasonable price. Now I know why... charming cottage, wonderful screened-in porch, inside and outside shower, clean, tucked away, cared for and built with a lot of TLC, awesome owner. I will definitely come here again!

This place is perfect to enjoy Pony swim. It just takes about 5 minutes by walking to pony swim lane. The host is very kind and helpful ever.

This was the best stay we’ve ever had in Chinoteague. The area was so serene, quiet, and relaxing. The cottage was clean and absolutely perfect for our little stay. I loved the screened in porch and private parking. It was the perfect place to relax and sleep after a day out at the beach. And you can’t beat the pricing! 10/10 recommend. We will be staying here again for sure!

This cottage is super adorable and perfect for a short weekend stay for two. Very comfy, clean and the location is perfect for both Beach and Marina access.

Great little efficiency cottage. Very clean and in good condition. It is on a quiet private road with parking directly infront of the cottage. You are minutes away from anything on Chincoteague. Will stay again.

Absolutely loved this little cottage! It isn’t huge, but it’s just perfect. The screened on porch sealed the deal for us!

The cottage was very clean and comfortable. It was very quiet but convenient to the attractions of Chincoteague and the refuge. We enjoyed staying there very much and would recommend.One suggestion: If possible, a recycling bin would be very useful.

The location of this property was perfect. Though it was nestled near neighbors, it was quiet and felt private. We were able to ride our bikes into town easily and didn’t have to drive during our stay. Great accommodation for a low-hassle trip. We brought our own bedding and towels.

Great private place! Love how it's just a few minutes from main Street and the beach! Front porch is great for eating outside without having to worry about the mosquitoes bitting! Highly recommend this place! We definitely will be staying again!

Great small bugalow! Just enough for 2 and in proximity of all of the local sights and sounds.

My husband and I had a wonderful time here, it was just the right size for the two of us. We stayed for a week and enjoyed evenings on the screened porch. The picnic table on the porch was great for bringing home dinner and enjoying it outside but away from the mosquitos. Everything seemed very clean on arrival and the bed was comfortable. We would definitely stay here again!

This tiny get-a-way was perfect for us. We were able to see the sites and return to this well appointed efficiency apartment. it as comfortable, nicely decorated, clean and enjoyable. Don't expect to prepare luxury meals, no stove included, however we did not intend to cook for ourselves.

Very cute and comfortable. Was better than we expected and would definitely come again!

My kids were going to be at their grandparents with their dad, so I decided to gift myself two nights in this little gem! It is little, but has everything you need! Bed is comfy (don't forget to bring your own sheets, etc & I brought a quilt, tho one was provided), bathroom is updated & clean, kitchen is small but appropriate (tiny sink is adorable). There's even a tiny grill outside that would be perfect for some charcoal-grilled burgers or veggies! I think my favorite tho was the spacious screened in porch on the front. It's probably almost as big as the indoor living space, with a slightly smaller picnic tables, two rocking chairs, an overhead fan, sting lights that you can easily plug in for cozy evening conversations. There are some annoying, biting flies (typical of beach area, nothing super annoying), but sitting on this beautiful porch, you'd never know.The Cottage is at the end of a gravel drive, off of a quieter thru street, basically in the residential area of the island, but under 5 minute drive to the historic downtown, or entrance onto the waterway (where I took the most delightful kayaking tour out to see the wild ponies). I didn't have a bike this time, but I imagine that would be even better!Already shared this perfect spot with a girlfriend who's looking for a weekend away with her husband!

Great place The bad was well water

This was our first visit to Chincoteague! We came for a wedding. The cottage was tidy and perfect for our needs. Don, the owner, was friendly and accommodating. The cottage is situated at the end of the lane, which offered lots of privacy. The bed was comfy, the fridge was cold, and our stay was peaceful! We are already making plans to visit again next year, and have every intention of booking the cottage again! Would definitely recommend it!

Honestly I can’t put into words how disrespectful the owner of this property is, treated us awful cursed at us screamed in our faces multiple times over a misunderstanding of online communication. No one especially three girls 22 yrs old and a 12 yr old on her birthday to add were treated this way it was awful we were in tears and left the property. I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone!!

Cozy beach shack. We loved the screened-in porch with four comfortable chairs, a table, and an overhead fan. Located five or ten minutes to just about anything you want to do in Chincoteague (ok about 15 from the beach). Perfect for someone who just wants a super simple place to sleep and who plans to go to restaurants for their entire stay. There is a tiny refrigerator and a hot plate but no stove or oven.

I had no idea this property was so close to everything. The host was delightful and we had a great time on Chincoteague!
