The Gatehouse - historic cottage - pet friendly

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Gatehouse. The location was very central, and the cottage was charming. The generous breakfast provisions and the gas log fire were very welcome. The secure backyard was perfect for our 2 small dogs and the hosts were very attentive and provided detailed communication, making sure that we had everything we needed.

Wonderful place to stay, comfortable and all mod cons. beautiful garden for the dogs. Short walk into town. Highly recommended

Timothy is an excellent host and also very interesting to talk to.He answered my numerous queries promptly and was there to greet me when I arrived. The food supplies were very generous and the cottage is very comfortable. The garden is lovely with lots of space for my German Shepherd dog to run around.It is a good location from which to explore the heritage trail and is within easy reach of shops, beaches and restaurants. I discovered and loved Blarneys bookshop which is close by.I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Port Fairy at the Gatehouse and plan to return later in the year.Thank you Timothy. It is a pleasure to have met you and to have stayed on your property.

Quaint cottage with charm. Nicely presented. Great communication with host. Pet friendly. Easy walk to shops, restaurants, beaches & river. All amenities provided, including breakfast items. We enjoyed our stay.

The cottage was absolutely beautifully fitted out and the gourmet breakfast provisions were a wonderful touch. Also the location was ideal for the PFFF, very central to everything and our hosts are such genuinely nice people.Would love to stay there again

What a perfect stay! Timothy and Roger are great hosts and The Gatehouse is a short stroll from all that Port Fairy has to offer. Has a great, relaxed vibe that’s easy to enjoy. An added bonus was being able to bring our Golden Retriever. Highly recommended.

Great stay, property was easy walk to shops, pubs & main st. Very clean & warm with great back yard for our dog. Hosts were great and provided fresh milk, butter, eggs & bread plus fruit & marmalade. All in all a great stay.Dave & Margo

The property suited our needs, and the additional toilet is great for a family. Although quiet and peaceful at night, Bank St is noisy from 7:30am onwards so if you are wanting a quite location and a sleep in this might not suit you.It was obvious to us that this property is pet friendly as there was an odour in the dinning and lounge area from pets. Rodger was great, very helpful and most welcoming.

The Gatehouse is comfortable, well furnished with great cooking provisions and utensils. The breakfast & fruit provided was substantial.Timothy Roger are great hosts. Our dog loved it.

Great stay (11 nights) in a wonderful cottage in beautiful Port Fairy. Clean, comfortable, well equipped, attractively furnished small cottage. Good beds and bed linen. Easy to walk anywhere in the town or to the beach, close enough to good cafes, coffee and pubs to pop out and be there within a few minutes walk, but far enough away not to be affected by noise. The back garden is massive, with really nice grass and secure fences/gates if you (by prior arrangement) bring your pup. The beach is really safe for swimmers, gently sloping, clean water and usually small waves.

Such a lovely old cottage with a beautiful garden, great location and perfect for kids and dogs. Timothy and Roger were wonderful hosts, and very attentive. Highly recommend if you are staying in Port Fairy.

My husband, our dog and I had a lovely stay at the Gatehouse. We stayed one week and enjoyed the beautiful staples that Timothy and Roger provided us. The cottage was comfortable and easy walk to shops. We loved our stayin Port Fairy.

As a pet friendly venue, it was nice to spend a few days in Port Fairy with our furbaby and getting some freah air and enjoy the local walks, inc. The beaches. Cottage very pleasant with good facilities and a great location. Would recommend
