The Firefly Cottage

Peaceful and sweet cottage enjoyed our stay.

Firefly Cottage was a charming escape—lush greenery, diverse surroundings, and serene farm views made it unforgettable. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in this peaceful haven, filled with beauty and variety.

Great place! The cottage was clean and set up nicely. The farm and animals were interesting and didn't disturb us at night. The hosts were friendly and gave us some good information about the farm and surrounding area. Highly recommend this property and we'll stay here again if we're in the area.

Hosts did not send instructions until after we had started our journey, we had a 10 hour drive and instructions were sent 8 hours before we arrived. I don’t play with my phone while driving so didn’t see instructions until after we arrived. Male host got mad bc we parked in the wrong spot and was very rude and treated my wife and I as if we were 4 year olds(send parking instructions sooner!). Male host told us we couldn’t park where we were. I asked where would you like us to park. He said “go back out to the drive and go up to the next place, I’ll meet you up there”. So we drove to the next house we seen about 300 feet up the drive(this infuriated him). He then flailed around all upset and aggressively started flinging his hand toward a parking spot behind the building we originally parked in front of. I guess it would have been to hard to just tell us to pull around to the back side of the building. The left side of the couch smells like a sweaty butt and the plates were left dirty from the previous guests, looked like they had pizza. Obviously the hosts don’t check for cleanliness in between guests. We would have cleaned the dishes before using them anyways but you guys could have checked them. Not enough toilet paper was left in the house and after our first impression of dealing with the male host we didn’t want to contact them and ask for more. Toilet could use a scrubbing, moldy growth on front of bowl. Spider webs with hair in bathroom corners. Will not return

We would definitely stay again if we were in the area .The host was excellent, all you had to do was call if you needed anything. If you are looking for a quiet place that has everything you would need nearby, then this is the place to stay.

Really cute place to stay!

This place has everything we needed. The mini splits do the trick for making it cooler when it is hot outside. Shower felt great. Kitchen was great. Living room and dining area also great. Lots of animals at the farm so you have lots to interact with. Enjoyed the time at Firefly!

Very clean and nicely furnished with essentials. We enjoyed the peace and quiet and ease of driving into downtown Staunton. The farm animals were fun to visit. Host was very responsive to our questions. We would stay here again if visiting Staunton.

We loved our stay on the farm in the cottage. The cottage was super cozy, clean, and bright. Well equipped. Hosts were very nice. We loved the farm and thought the animals were hilarious. Great location and very convenient to downtown and to hiking.

Loved the privacy of the stand alone cottage down on the farm. Was perfect to get around the entire area and see all the sites. Everything was an easy drive, and downtown Staunton was like 5 minutes away for anything you needed from restaurants, Walmart, Historic Downtown with the shops, but you felt like you were in the quiet, peaceful country.Unit was adorable and well appointed with everything we needed, and was cleaned and taken care of well (especially considering how old the place is!)Our host was great! Met with us at check in and gave us the lay of the land and responded quickly to a couple text questions during our stay. We were able to feed some of the animals and loved every minute of our 4 night stay. Slept like babies!Highly Recommend this Property!

The Firefly Cottage is excellent for a couple. We enjoyed the closeness to Staunton and the farm animals right outside. Would highly recommend this property!

we enjoyed staying at the Firefly Cottage. The place inside was clean , comfortable, and affordable. The only issue was the picture of the outside of cottage in the ad did not match outside currently. outside porches needed some work. we loved the animals. overall, we enjoyed our stay.

I personally prefer the sounds of the occasional animal to a car or person, so this was just what I was looking for and yet super close to Staunton. Katie was very responsive to a few questions I had and everything went smoothly. The perspective from the top of the property also provides a nice view of VA foothills. I would definitely stay here again.

This property was perfect for our needs. We loved saying hi to the animals, watching the sunset from the top of the hill, and exploring downtown. It was quiet, cozy, and had basic kitchen equipment to assist with meal preparation.

Quaint and quiet property. Convenient to Staunton, yet away from the traffic. Perfect spot from which to get to downtown for shopping, dining, etc., and also easy access to the interstate. Highly recommend.

Love, love, love the Firefly Cottage! It's cozy, quaint and quiet. Love seeing all the farm animals in the morning while I have my coffee. Katie and her family, who own and live on the property, are great. I have stayed there two times and am definitely planning on returning this summer. Just right for one or two people who are looking to get away to a country setting and truly relax and leave your cares behind in the big city!

Had a wonderful getaway! So enjoyed our time together, exploring Staunton, and spending quiet time on the property watching the farm animals.

We felt like it was just the right amount privacy with a country vibe yet very close to Staunton. Everything was clean. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. We also appreciated that countertops were clear so there was plenty of room for our stuff. The bed was very comfortable. We would highly recommend this place for couples.

This was our first time to come to the Shenandoah area and the Firefly Cottage was a perfect place for us to stay. The cottage was very clean and comfortable and the hosts are great! We enjoyed meeting them and getting to learn about the various animals on their farm. All in all we had a great time and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Firefly Cottage to our friends.

This was just a great place to stay on our trip to Virginia! We were here to race Grindstone 100k and this stay offered everything we needed, including the cutest pig and goats to make you smile! The cabin was stocked with anything you would need and in good clean condition.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Firefly Cottage. Jeremy, one of our hosts, met us when we arrived and made us feel right at home. The cottage was very clean and well furnished. It was equipped with very quiet mini splits (no noisy air conditioners), a comfortable bed, and a washer and dryer, which was much appreciated on our long trip.A sense of peace extended throughout the whole property. Whether we were resting from a busy day or visiting the farm animals (you must meet Marley the pig) it felt like a sanctuary. For us it was a perfect peaceful getaway and we look forward to returning someday. So don't hesitate to stay at this property - you will love it!

The cottage is absolutely wonderful. It's charming and has everything you need for a relaxed stay. The hosts are available when you need them, and very pleasant and open to talking about the farm, the animals, and the area. The farm is just fantastic! Waking up to the animals wanting to say hello and getting to interact with them was a highlight of our stay. I wouldn't change a thing, and even messaged a few of my friends while I was there to recommend Firefly Cottage to them as a future destination.
