Stayed Sep 14, 2025My wife and I chose this property/accommodation based on the photos we saw on vrbo. Suffice to say that when we got there, the photos did not do any justice to what we saw/experienced. It was absolutely beautiful. The setting was better than we expected and the Ausable river at the foot of the property was an absolute gem. We spent pretty much every afternoon having a coffee by the river at the picnic table after our daily hikes in the many awesome mountain trails which were not too far at all from where we stayed. The location was perfect for day trips to the various sites of the Adirondacks. The property was peaceful day and night, no loud noises/music of any kind (apart from the wildlife we heard one night for a few minutes). Oh, and our hosts Caleb and Eleri were absolutely great, easy to reach and answered any questions we had and gave us great advice on the various surrounding attractions. The cottage itself was very comfortable and had everything we needed (the screened 'outdoor' room was great). If you want to explore the Adirondacks, this would be the place to stay. We highly recommend it.

Stayed Jun 9, 2025This was a great stay for my wife, 1 year, and me. There's so much to do in the area if you enjoy the outdoors, or just need a quiet getaway. Caleb was very helpful with anything that we needed and advice on what to do with a bust baby when it rained and all we had planned was outdoor activities. The washer and dryer were great ammenities to have, and the gardens were fun to look at. The proximity to the E. branch of the Ausable was great, especially being so close to a historic landmark in the covered bridge. 10/10 would recommend and stay again. We were only sorry we didn't have more time to be there.

Stayed Aug 12, 2024Caleb’s cottage and grounds are beautiful. The cottage is newly renovated and the gardens and location on the river are outstanding. However these great qualities are hindered by the glampers bathroom that is attached to the cottage and is located right next to the cottage bedroom. At all hours of the day and night the campers shower and bang around in the bathroom.

Stayed Jul 18, 2024We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. Caleb was always prompt to respond any questions we had. The cottage was cute and comfortable for myself and two friends. The location for us was perfect to watch the Ironman race. A gem of a spot and i would definitely stay again

Stayed Jun 14, 2024This cottage was perfect for our long weekend in the mountains. It was clean, comfortable, and well-stocked. The pictures really don’t do it justice, in my opinion. Our favorite spot was the screened-in back porch with the river view. Great place to relax with dinner and a drink after a long day of hiking! Caleb and Eleri are welcoming and gracious hosts. It did take us approximately 40 minutes to get to the Loj trailhead parking, but we thought it was worth it to stay in such a beautiful place. Highly recommend!

Stayed Aug 25, 2023Beautiful modernized cottage overlooking a river in the heart of the Adirondacks. Close to everything but you avoid the crowds in Lake Placid. Our hosts went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. They were a pleasure to talk to and recommend some good restaurants nearby.

Stayed Jun 19, 2023This beautiful cottage was exactly what I needed to relax, and enjoy the natural beauty of the mountains. Everything I needed was already there, and the hosts were fabulous and so friendly. The cottage is right on the river, overlooking the mountains. In the evenings, I sat in the screened in porch, enjoying the the fireflies and stars, which were incredible! If you are looking for somewhere that is unbelievably idyllic, with some hidden wellness optional extras - I indulged and it really was worth it

Stayed Jun 9, 2023Our stay at the cottage was lovely! The cottage is super cute and feels like a cozy English cottage. No surprise here as Eleri is from the UK. Caleb and Eleri were very hospitable. The proximity to the river and the view down the valley were unforgettable. We absolutely loved sitting on the screened in porch listening to the sound of the tree frogs and watching the lightning bugs. There's even an outdoor speaker, fan and dining table which makes for an incredible evening. The kitchen is very big relative to the cozy cottage size and it has modern appliances. The bedroom is extremely comfortable and nice and dark which helped us sleep soundly. It was about a 150 ft walk down the hill to the cottage, but this also gave it beautiful seclusion and its own unique view and perspective. The gravel on the pathway was very compact so we could roll our suitcases on it so it wasn't such a big deal. We highly recommend this little slice of paradise tucked by the Ausable River right next to the covered bridge.
