Great place, attentive staff Dog friendly, clean property Our mini house was just about perfect
Perfect location. Minutes from Alex Bay strip. Walking distance to grocery store, liquor store and 5 mins drive to bait store and Alex Bay Go-Karts. Swan Bay staff were friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend the poolside cottages .
Outstanding!
We stayed in the cottages and they were very clean and had everything we needed. The resort was very clean and well kept.
Our mid September weekend getaway was perfect ?! Swan Bay is such a great place to visit. We stayed in Steamboat Tiny Home Cottage which was very very clean and well appointed with anything we might need! Lots of places to walk our doggies ?? right there on the premises! Alex Bay and Clayton, which are both very close to the resort, hold several options for dining, with Clayton having more waterside dining. We met several wonderful people and their dogs!
We loved that the tiki bar and pool were so close. We could have adult time and the kids could entertain themselves at the pool. It was a win, win!
If you are a hermit, skip this place. If you're a people person, you'll have a good time and make some new friends. The place is clean, well-managed, and lots of friendly, happy campers. We stayed in one of the tiny houses near the adult pool and Tiki Bar. It was busy and noisy afternoons and evenings, but all good clean fun. And everyone settled down around campfires at night and we slept well. The tiny houses are really not tiny at all. Full size kitchen appliances, lots of living space, storage, and a porch. A safe place for families and kids, great spot for boaters, anglers, and groups of friends and families to connect, relax, and play. Close to lots of 1000 Island attractions, tons of places to eat and a great grocery store within walking distance. If I could suggest improvements, more trees would be nice and more private camp sites. This is our second visit and we're already talking about coming back.
The house was close to the pool, which our kids enjoyed. The RV park is convenient for dog owners. The kitchen implements provided are extremely basic, so if you plan to do any cooking, you might want to bring knives, spatula, baking pan, etc. from home. There are also no condiments (e.g. salt, oil) so it would be good to bring those. Towels are provided, but no pool towels. We had brought beach towels, so that was not an issue for us. I appreciated that the RV park was very quiet after 8pm. There were people around, but everyone was very calm and quiet. For those concerned about coronavirus, the property did not seem to be taking/enforcing many measures beyond office staff wearing masks. Few others wore masks, including guests, and there was no sign or mention of additional cleaning. The house we stayed in was clean. The person who cleaned it did not wear a mask while in the house (we were using the pool at the time, so could see this), which I thought was pretty strange. If we had any health concerns, this would really have bothered me, and as it was, I didn't love it. It also seems like a health risk for staff. The house has no dishwasher and instructions say to leave dishes clean, so you are essentially relying on the cleaning capability of the previous guests unless you re-wash all dishes upon arrival. The location of the property was convenient and it was described accurately. The pools were clean, uncrowded, and very pleasant. I would have liked more shade in general, such as additional umbrellas in seating areas not at the pool, and it would have been nice to have more than two chairs on the porch.
Lovely spot, and sparkling clean. Even better in person! Would highly recommend.
My Husband and I stayed in Arcadia Sept 20-Sept 23 with our two pups, Ella & Sydney, We absolutely loved and enjoyed the place. It was plenty big, very well appointed, super clean, which is a must because my husband is very OCD! Being located right across from the Pools and Tiki Bar was so nice as we went over one afternoon and left the dogs gated on the cute little front porch so they could see us. The location is 6 miles from town which was also very convenient! We also found a place to take the dogs for a nice long hike to tire them out....Otter Spring Preserve - it was awesome and also very close to our cottage. One thing that I would suggest is a screen door for Arcadia as we ended up with alot of flies in the cottage and it would have been nice to have a table for a drink when sitting on the porch with the dogs. I realize that there was a picnic table in the yard but we just wanted to hang on the cozy front porch with our coffee in the morning or cocktail at night. And there seemed to be a problem with the WIFI when we first got there which was resolved for me and my laptop and I was able to do what I needed for work but my husband's IPAD/TABLET was in and out all weekend. Just alittle frustrating! But all in all, I would recommend this place and definitely will be back as we always travel with our dogs. And they had a great time, walking along the bay every morning, meeting everyone's fur babies! I think they made more friends than we did! Great Place! Thanks Swan Bay for a relaxing Anniversary Trip! Tina & Dave Canali & Ella & Sydney too! Elmira, NY
