The Borealis Yurt ~ Deluxe Mountain Getaway Above Fairbanks With Great Views

I set this up for my parents to stay over Christmas. They really enjoyed the stay. Very beautiful surroundings and a warm cozy yurt

We didn't use the hot tub. The host brought a blender for us to use for morning smoothies. There was a coffee maker but no coffee. Otherwise, the kitchen was well equipped.

We had everything we needed and were hoping to see the aurora, but it just wasn't in the cards for us. But I can see how this location would be great for that. The beds were comfortable. Several hiking trails nearby. We'd recommend this rental.

This yurt is exactly what you would expect. Up on the mountainside with a great view. Highly recommend to anyone looking to stay out of the city.

Great location in the hills outside Fairbanks. The yurt was well appointed and met our needs: comfortable beds, kitchen equipped for basic needs, and the use of the hot tub was delightful after a day of hiking. Colleen was very helpful and quickly responded to our queries. We would stay here again!

Oh man—what a beautiful setting and great little Yurt! Great host communication! Close enough fur Fairbanks to access everything (20 minutes) but far enough away to enjoy nature! AMAZING view off front deck! Looking to rebook for Auroras in the spring!

Aurora Yurt, great name and equally amazing place, views to die for and a fantastic place to stay.

Our goal was to find a place away from the city lights, where we could do a bit of aurora-chasing. The yurt was a perfect spot! We were able to see the Northern Lights on three occasions, and still had easy access to all of the amenities in Fairbanks. Beds were comfortable, and we slept well due to the quiet environment. Kitchen had everything we needed. Bathroom seemed to have endless hot water, which was nice after being outside in temps as low as -34 F. The sunrise views from the front deck were amazing, too!

The yurt was incredibly cozy, even in -20F! Colleen has a binder full of food and activity recommendations in the area. She also has snowshoes you can borrow to check out trails in the area. We loved watching the sun rise over the Alaska range from the deck and even saw the Northern lights right from the driveway!

Staying at the yurt was a magical experience!! It was immaculately clean and stocked with everything you could need for your stay. We were able to see the aurora 3 nights right over the yurt from the deck due to it's wonderful location and great advice from the owner. Check in was easy and communication with the owner before,during and after our stay was very pleasant and easy as she is a wonderful host. Even though it is on a mountain it is within a short drive to a lot of popular activities around Fairbanks. We highly recommend the yurt for your vacation!! Thank you Colleen for making our Alaska bucket list vacation perfect !!

Nice and peaceful but close to town for activities.

Wonderful place to stay away from the city. A bit of a drive up the mountain but great views. Coleen was wonderful and alerted us when the aurora was visible. I would definitely stay again!

Comfortable cabin with a fabulous view! The yurt was cute and cozy and well stocked with games, books and movies. Colleen was so nice and very helpful. We would stay again if we make it back up here!!

We loved staying at the yurt. It was very comfortable and cozy. The view from the yurt was really nice. One morning we could see snow peaked mountains in the distance. Would highly recommend staying here.

The yurt was so welcoming. There was a wide selection of movies and games. WiFi worked well for my family and were all able to be on our devices and stream a movie on the TV. Loved sitting on the deck in the mornings. We were able to make home cooked meals for our army boy and just relax together. We enjoyed our stay very much!!

A truly Alaskan experience. Rustic but with all the amenities. Great location outside of town that makes for a beautiful drive, but close enough so you don’t feel isolated. Great host and communication.
