The Blue Rose Cottage - Amazing Views - Direct Beach Access - Pets Allowed

The view was amazing! The fireworks put on by locals/visitors were right there, in your face while watching from the balcony. Couldnt have asked for a better show. The cottage has everything you need for cooking, which was fantastic. Would definitely stay there again!

The house was very clean - the view amazing. We will definitely revisit this place in the future. Only suggestions I can make is I wish they would get a screen door for the patio so it could be open and not let in flies. The shower was a bit tight for me at 6'0. But the bed was very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked. The sofas are starting to show their age but still good - wish there was an ottoman.

The kitchen is stocked with the essential. There is a full sized fridge, stove top (no oven), microwave and toaster oven. There is a barbecue that is also outside for use. The place is much larger than expected. There is a washer and dryer available that is in the bedroom. Lots of blankets and sheets there also.

First, I will say that I have never left a poor review before and if there are ever any issues, I try and handle it with the host first. Unfortunately in this case the host didn't and has not communicated with us or VRBO to help solve the issue.The good, the location is great with access to the beach and a very nice deck with amazing views. Overall property was clean with the exception of lots of spider webs on the windows, dirty window and slider tracks, coffee pot not cleaned out from previous guest and all towels still in the dryer wet. When we arrived the toilet was not flushing well and was running constantly. We tried to call the host and there was no answer. The next day still dealing with the same thing and we had to fill a bucket with water to pour into toilet to get it to flush. Texted the owner and property manager to let them know and still no response. We were pretty fed up by the next morning still not having a solution. Emailed the owner to let him know we were leaving a day early,again...never any response. Also quite a bit of deferred maintenance in the kitchen and a strong smell in the bedroom that we couldn't identify. Musty/moldy? Would not recommend staying here.

We tried to check in and was unable. Finally getting the code and inside, the property was not cleaned, bed unmade, food in the refrigerator, dirty floors. It was obvious the property had not been cleaned after the last tenant. Got a hold of property management, talked with the owner of the property, and there had been a mistake, renting us the property. They thought it was going to be in two weeks when it was clearly obvious that the rent was for April 25, and 26th. We told the property manager, and owner that we would not be staying there and found another place to stay. Unfortunately, I have not received a refund on my Visa so now I am dealing with that which is taxing my patients.

The place is lovely and is in a magical location.

They say Never turn your back on the sea. And how could we when staying in this absolutely amazing & adorable cottage by the sea. It took our breath away & captured our souls right from the very start. Arriving during stormy weather seeing the surf crashing right up to the bay's beach just below the cottage, the lush surrounding foliage & hummingbirds making us feel that perhaps we were in some tropical paradise, the gentle swish of the low tide slowing the world down, the curious playful harbor seals popping up all around our kayaks, watching the nightly ballet of the crab & clam diggers with their headlamps slowly scanning the dark bay, the huge fiery green bolide arching down over the Cape Lookout spit & magically sizzling upon the sea, staying up all night gazing at the stunning harvest full moon tumbling overhead & hovering meditatively over the sea before burning deep orange as it silently sunk into the far horizon. Yes, we deeply LOVED the Blue Rose Cottage and hope to return very soon.

We greatly appreciated the fantastic view, open floor plan and direct access to the beach through a private trail. House features are well labeled and the bed is comfortable. If bringing pets again, would be happy to stay here again in the future. Great little market around the corner with everything you could need (plus Indian food).

This little cottage is very cute! It's surrounded by flowering shrubs with an excellent view. Private stairs take you right down to the beach. We enjoyed watching the changing conditions on the bay, and watching all the birds from the deck. The bed is huge and comfy, the shower has excellent pressure. There's a convenience store/deli within walking distance that also has burgers, samosas and ice cream. The price is right for this little gem.

Had a wonderful time and enjoyed the scenic views of the beach and sunsets. Loved not having stairs to the entrance of the cottage. Loved the path to the beach.

The place is in a special little spot right above the bay. But I had a very challenging time getting in. There are two lockboxes and I did not know that. I went to the wrong lockbox trying to get in in the pouring rain at 8 o’clock at night. Finally, I got a hold of the owner. But it was too late by then I had to end up staying at a hotel that night and I had to Pay for it. The property smells a little bit like dead mice or maybe old riding wood. It’s pleasant enough it could be cleaner and some areas.. it’s very old. If you don’t like Old, don’t stay there. But once I got settled, listening to the sound of the ocean by opening, some of the windows with the wind blowing was absolutely spectacular. The place is pretty cold. If you are not comfortable with that, bring your own heaters or don’t stay there..

Great location and beach access, nice views of ocean from inside and the deck, walking distance to a grocery store which also serves ice cream. Furniture was comfortable. Our overall stay was really enjoyable. Two issues however; 1. the toilet was clogged when we arrived and I had to use plunger several times-thankfully that worked. 2. there is NO OVEN. Just a stovetop, microwave and a small countertop multi toaster convection appliance. We were all set for cooking a 7-lb rib roast for our xmas day dinner. Fortunately, the BBQ was large enough with full propane and I was able to cook the prime rib outside and heat things in the microwave. Kitchen utensils were sparse but we made it work for the four of us. Even though there is NO OVEN, I would stay again, but probably during the summertime, when weather is more conducive to outdoor cooking.

Very pleasant stay, warm and comfortable with great bay/ocean view. (Front row seats for New Year fire works.) We would happily repeat! Only negative was the usual...trying to figure out TV operation with 2 remotes, and navigating the options.

This was the perfect location for our week long stay. We were on the ocean with great views, close to Tillamook, not far from Haystack Rock and adventures north along the coast. The cottage was very clean. We appreciated the Keurig coffee maker and the coffee press. The walk/steps down to the beach was quite doable. The views from the living area and deck were great. The lighting in the bedroom was very dim and made it a challenge to find clothes/shoes. The bathroom is small with a tiny shower and a drizzle of water at the bathroom sink. With the telescope, we were able to watch wildlife and people out crabbing and clamming. Beautiful sunsets.

We have stayed in this special area before, but this was the first time at this wonderful cottage. Fingers are crossed that it won't be long before we're able to visit it again!
