The lovely spa town of Buxton, which is easily accessible by car, is well known for its healing spring water as well as for its Pavillion Gardens and magnificent Victorian Opera House, which hosts a variety of shows and draws visitors from all over the world. The Blue John display caves at Castleton and other grand homes, including Chatsworth House and Lyme Hall, are also easily accessible by car.
