THE AREA:

Dunworley is on the breathtaking Seven Heads Peninsula, part of the Wild Atlantic Way route.

A sandy tidal beach lies just a moment's walk away and offers a tranquil swim, a rugged coastline climb, or just a wander around the beach.

The walks along our headland are absolutely incredible, with a 17th century watch tower, a secluded cove and a salt tower among it's delights.

The surrounding countryside is dotted with small colourful towns and villages, which provide a range of food from irish pub grub to high restaurant quality standard.

Clonakilty, the home of Michael Collins, is just seven miles from the cottage and has a wide variety of delicious restaurants and, in particular, a traditional Irish pub where many renowned bands play, De Barra's.
There is also the spoiling Incheydoney Spa with an indoor sea water pool and a thalassic health spa.

Bandon and Lisselan offer great golf clubs - Bandon (18 holes) and Lisselan (six holes).

Bandon also offers fishing on the sea trout and salmon river, day passes are available.
Kilcoleman fishery is well worth the day.

You can follow the Wild Atlantic Way from Dunworley to Kinsale for a stunning drive.

Be it during the day for some sightseeing (from 17th century forts to rugged walks along the headlands Kinsale is a haven for tourists) or by night for an uplifting irish experience, lively pubs host some excellent bands.

Courtmacsherry is another beautiful harbour town, just 5 miles away and has sailing, riding, sea fishing, and windsurfing facilities along the beautiful strand.

Barryroe Co-Op is the nearest shop, 2.5 miles away.

And the nearest pub is 1.5 miles away.

A perfect little cottage if you like to go off the grid! Well appointed and comfortable, Gilly & Richard made sure we had everything we needed. Mattress & bedding was very comfy and the cottage was stocked with all the basics and then some! Made it very easy to whip up a little breakfast.Very communicative and accommodating hosts from the start. Took advantage of the option to book dinner the night we arrived and it was absolutely delightful - all farm-to-table! The walk to the beach and waking up to the greetings of the neighbor cows was something we’ll never forget.

Cozy, quaint cottage off-the-beaten path. Quiet with fabulous views. Just a walk down the driveway to the ocean. Very rural and remote. Real Irish living. Lovely!

We found the property to be a tranquil, comfortable, clean well equipped property that was a useful base to explore the area. Clonakity, Kinsale and Cork were all within easy driving distance. The local accessible cove was within easy walking distance. We would certainly recommend the property if seeking a peaceful location just slightly off the beaten track

If you are yearning to feel like someone dropped you into the Ireland we all dream about; verdant green rolling hills that spill to a crescent beach with caves carved from timeless surf, while cows look at you with curiousity, and a stoked fire awaits you upon your return to a quintessential stone cottage...than, you have arrived at your vision of paradise. Add two of the loveliest and most accomodating hosts who set a beautiful table and provide farm fresh meals in your sweet abode and offer a generosity of spirit that ensured I didn't miss the chance to see the homestead from where my ancestor's sprang! A beautiful angel kiss both unexpected and extraordinary! Thank you Gilly and Richard. You made the start to our Irish adventure particularly special and saved us from navigating nightmares for the balance of our Ireland stay. The only missing piece was not having come soon enough to meet Frederick. Eileen was a gem in his stead.I am tossing a virtual stick to Honey. She filled the void of missing my sweet Field Spanial, Chesie who is currently draped over my lap. A bit too big for a complete fit!Blessings,Fran and Mark

We had a wonderful stay in the cozy coach house. We were met by Richard when we arrived with a coal fire burning in the fireplace. Richard provided fresh eggs, bread, jam and milk. Visits from Richard's dogs Honey and Narla were much appreciated. Very peaceful location, great for relaxing, amazing scenery, many local walks available.

This Dunworley Cottage brought just the feel and the views of everything we were looking for in Ireland. We could take a short wonderful walk down to the Atlantic for a swim or cocktails or both. Their gourmet meal of farm to table cuisine was some of the finest I have ever had. Delivered a course at a time to our cottage with the most friendly service. A very hard combo to beat.
