SWEET BRIAR IN THE VINES - CLARE

Quiet and comfortable. Nice to be away from everyone and among the vines and the birds.

The house was great for 3 couples, of retirement age. Space to either mingle together or space & chill . Loved our breakfast sharing times around the kitchen table then Dinner in the evening around dining table leading onto games & laughter. Great having the Reisling trail for walking/ cycling. Air conditioning worked brilliant.. Host great for communication.

Absolute gem. Very comfortable for our adult group of 4, had everything we needed. Great location to explore the beautiful Clare Valley, then to return to and enjoy the comforts of the cottage - verandah, large lounge, dining room, very well stocked and equipped kitchen. Thank you Judith for your communication, the fresh provisions and bottle of O'Dwyer wine.

The cottage is in a wonderful location, quiet and serenely located. Bed was comfy, linens fresh but the overall level of cleanliness was just awful.It wasnt just dust but months of accumulated dirt and grime on window sills, top of appliances , backs of cupboards and the window screens looked like they hadnt been washed in years.

Five stars to our host Judith. Kept us in the loop over a small fire outbreak close by .. her continued contact was so re assuring for us..until the fire was under control later that night. our accommodation was brilliant.. surrounded by a vineyard…On arrival it was a very hot 🥵 day 43 degrees As soon as we opened the front door, we were welcomed by a refreshing coolness.. AC excellent I must say. The home had perfumed diffusers, and smelt wonderful. This stay is truly loved. Beautiful art work and artefacts everywhere. We appreciated the vintage and antique furniture, and decor in keeping with this 100 year old cottage. A cottage with an extension of a lounge come tv room and dining, at the back of home was a pleasant surprise. As was a welcome bottle of their own Shiraz Breakfast was supplied for our stay.. a true full English style .. much to the delight of my English husband ..The information book, was very informative. Plenty to do if you wish to do a food and wine trail .. as we did. The only thing I probably would say, I wished the outside seating area, had been dusted of cobwebs on the walls and seating. As I’m not good with spiders. Overall one of the loveliest stays in a few years. Thankyou Judith for sharing this property.

Sweet Briar in the Vines is the perfect base for exploring Clare especially if your group comprises a number of couples.The property is just out of Clare and ideally located next to the Reisling Trail for ready access to everything that the Clare Valley can offer. Each bedroom is air-conditioned and the kitchen and living spaces are ideal for a relaxed break.

A perfect place for us, and would love to go back next year.Great facilities, location, and comfort.The only ( minor ) issue was that the light in the Shiraz bedroom has failed.

Spent a week in Clare and the surrounding area. Sweet Briar in the Vines was a perfect place to stay with my husband and two adult children. We went in winter and found It was easy to keep warm and comfortable. It was a lovely home away from home. While it is not a bed and breakfast, they did kindly supply some bacon, eggs, tomatoes, butter, milk and bread to accommodate us for at least our first breakfast, along with a beautiful bottle of their Shiraz, from their own winery. I like photography and have included some photos of different views I'd taken at the property.

Spacious for 4 couples with a lovely lounge area. Great internal decoration- warm and artistic. Comfortable couches and dining settings- in and out. Magical meals made in the well equipped kitchen. Beautiful views of the vineyard and sun rises. So quiet and peaceful. Next to the rail trail- so convenient!Great communication with Judith. Highly recommended!

We had a lovely weekend at this beautiful place. There were eight of us and plenty of places to enjoy the beautiful views from the various verandahs. A fantastic lounge and dining area for us to gather to celebrate a special birthday. The age range was 96 through to 3 years of age and the accommodation was perfect for us. It had everything we needed, I would highly recommend Sweet Briar in the Vine!

A lovely property that was perfect for a multi-family catch up. The garden was beautiful as was the house set in the quiet vineyards. We had everything we needed and the host was very accommodating to our requests. Will definitely be back!

Group of 5 lifelong friends spending a weekend together. Location was peaceful and property was as stated, 4.5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. We chose to move mattress from Leanto bedroom as it was a very hot weekend and room was very stuffy.Breakfast was toast and cereal, which was not as expected or per previous reviews. 5 people, 1 packet of bread and small packs of cereal for 2 night stay was disappointing. Lovely bottle of red left for us which was appreciated.Clare taxi service were fabulous to deal with, pick up and drop back home allowed each of us to enjoy a night out, make sure you book.Overall we had a fabulous weekend but some consideration to what is expected from paying visitors versus “cost” to property owner should be given.

Lovely old cottage in a picturesque and peaceful setting.

Extremely roomy 'cottage' with 4 sizeable bedrooms and 2 large bathrooms. The kitchen is fantastic with a large Agar oven, plenty of cupboards that store everything that you could ever possibly need. Kitchen doors open onto a porch with a lovely timber dining setting along with an efficient Weber BBQ. The beds are extremely comfortable along with the cosy pillows & lovely linen. Living room is huge with 3 leather sofas and an armchair, large TV, aircon, wood heater as well as a marvellous 8 seater dining table. Cards, games & books are at your disposal too.We were a family of 4 staying here & would happily come back again.

It was exquisite

Easy to locate not far from town that has excellent dining & shopping options & surrounded by vines. Beautiful decore, large bedrooms spacious lounge & dining, well appointed kitchen with quality linen & towels. Breakfast was yummy and ample. Our party of 4 enjoyed the space, with several outdoor seating areas to jyst relaxe.

Calm and peaceful, birds everywhere, lovely garden and the best shower. Far enough from civilisation for quiet, but close enough to get great food, thanks

4 good friends catching up in Clare Valley and the sweet briar cottage was perfect. Four very comfortable bedrooms, great kitchen and different areas to sit relax and catch up. Thank you Judith, the bottle of wine was delicious.

On our arrival there was no hot water but appeared that it had run out as it heated up overnight. Otherwise a very comfortable stay for 2 families- 7 all up.

Fantastic home in beautiful location only little issue is back bedroom very musky so not a pleasant smell to sleep in ..otherwise an amazing interesting home, well equipped kitchen, comfy bedsbeds acleanbeds
