In its previous life, The cottage has been a store shed, a farm shed, an office and a Tack room. NOW it offers the traveler a calm, relaxing place to stay with a high architectural design and decor. All this whilst enjoying some of the Valley's best views and gorgeous sunsets over the Yarra River.

Stayed Dec 3, 2021We liked that there was some food and toiletry supplies available to us, more than most places we have been. Our stay was nice and restful and the sunset was an added pleasure. Sunset lodge was enjoyable to stay at and we would definitely return to again in the future. The hosts were welcoming and communicated well with us. Thank you Pat and Neil.. ?

Stayed Jan 12, 2026Pat & Neil's cottage was extremely comfortable and well-appointed with high-quality facilities. The setting was peaceful and private and the outlook over the hills and farmland very scenic. I particularly liked being able to sit on the deck for meals or a drink, and the welcome touches of scones, fruit, chocolate and butter were very muc appreciated. Comfortable bed, modern, clean bathroom and kitchen. Highly impressive and hope to visit again.

Stayed Oct 17, 2025Probably not for infants, drives in the Dandenong for full days, shorter and many national parks plus lovely little towns, Marysville a favourite. Having the host not to far away was helpful when you need help.
