Sunset Cottage on Calico Creek is an updated, vintage fishing cottage, built in 1942 but with all the modern conveniences. It lies right on the bank of Calico Creek and in the heart of Morehead City at 20th street.
Kayak from the side yard or the 20th street bridge, walk or ride your bike 1/2 mile to the beach on the Sound and the downtown waterfront filled with shops and restaurants, put your boat in at the Morehead City public ramp at the Visitor's Center less than 2 miles from the cotta

Stayed Jun 11, 2025Location was great! Management company was great! House itself was just ok, but could be cute as a button! Den and porch furniture need to be donated to Good Will or thrown in dump. They were old, stained , uncomfortable ,etc. We covered them up prior to sitting on them. Also need more sitting options in den. House had one couch and one chair. Decor is awful as well but the furniture was definitely our biggest complaint. Rest of house was fine though! The last suggestion would be to have cleaning supplies avaliable to help keep house tidy. House didnt have a broom, toilet bowl brush etc. I'm just one who likes to keep things clean etc. We would stay here again IF owners updated the furniture and decor. Again, the house has so much potential! Wouldn't take much to make it a more comfortable, appealing vacation home. Overall our time in Morehead City was great!

I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: House was ok. Both bedrooms upstairs. Furniture to sit on (inside and out) both need updating and improving upon. Old and uncomfortable. Enjoyed the screened porch since the weather was very nice.

Stayed Feb 14, 2025Beautiful cottage in a gorgeous location while still being conveniently close to Beaufort, Atlantic beach, and anything else. Cottage was clean, cozy, with stunning views inside or out. All together made for a great trip!
