We had a wonderful girls trip! Location was excellent and we felt comfortable and safe. I would highly recommend staying here. It is so quiet and relaxing! We will definitely be back.

Fantastic stay at the collage. Close to downtown to have a nice walk. Dollar general out the back door and had all the groceries we needed for a few days stay. The kids loved the playroom downstairs - a real life saver for the rainy day. Enjoyed a nice cookout with family and finished the night with a complimentary bonfire. Would definitely stay again!

The house is cute, cozy and clean. It has everything that we need. The host John is very kind and easy to communicate. He sent the instructions before we arrived. The guide to the beaches, restaurants, and things to do is super helpful! We came back home yesterday, and my husband already began to look forward to the next stay at the John’s cottage in near future. :-)

Perfect for a getaway! Clean and cute!

Sunrise cottage did not disappoint!! This was the perfect location for a girls weekend. Our cottage was immaculate and outfitted with everything we needed. A beautiful walk to downtown, we shopped till we dropped-next year we will take advantage of the amazing bonfire John started for his guests!

Everything was as expected. Place was very clean and instructions were clear. Thanks so much! Would definitely return!

This was our 3rd year in a row staying here. We love the walkability to town, the cottage is spic and span when we arrive, and it is just perfect for our fall getaway!

Super clean, lovely cottage. Easy check-in/check-out. Owner started a fire in the fire pit for us one night - really nice! As someone with animal allergies, really appreciate that this place is pet-free - those rentals are getting harder and harder to find.Overall, outstanding experience. Hope to return!

The cottage was very clean and comfy, lots of room. Loved having a washer / dryer and games!

Nice little cottage about a mile outside of town with a great walking path that takes you into saugatuck. The fire pit out back is beautiful and peaceful.

First impression was CLEAN. The rooms were well appointed with two side night tables/lamps and large closet with hangers. The bed was comfortable with very soft sheets and a cooling comforter - a variety of pillows and extra blankets were available. The kitchen has everything guests need to cook in or out (each cottage has its own BBQ and cleaning tools.) The living area is comfortable with TV. Picnic table out back by BBQ. The garage also has a picnic table for bad weather - garage is well lit with a fan. The firepit and seating area is large and the property is well maintained with very nice landscaping for privacy from the street in back. The village of Saugatuck and the marina are a pleasant walk or quick drive down the street.

We have stayed at these cottages many times. John is very kind, the cottages are consistently clean and comfortable. We will always choose to stay here.

Our stay in Sunrise cottage was perfect. Our family rented two cottages for a wedding weekend. It was our first time to the area and we were thrilled with the location. Easy walk to coffee and groceries, right across the street from paved walk/bike path for easy and delightful access to historic Saugatuck and beyond. We rented bikes literally two blocks away and hardly drove anywhere. John was so responsive ahead of our visit and on site he provided such nice little services such as a fire in the fire pit and fresh cut hydrangeas from the garden. So lovely! The fire pit is surrounded by lush garden and was our evening activity the whole visit. Just perfect! The renovation of these small homes includes a terrific garage-turned-dining area with pretty lighting that really extends the living space. And a small downstairs room allowed our 5th guest privacy to dress, etc. The bathroom was small for 5 of us, no question, but we made it work. The shower was terrific with ample hot water. Between the bedrooms was a built in cabinet, counter, two power outlets, a huge mirror and good light for us to use to get ready. So we weren’t depending on the bathroom mirror. The closets also have mirror doors. The queen beds are very comfortable and our 6’4” son managed the sofa bed just fine. We are already considering a return trip and would stay here again in a heartbeat. Two thumbs up with gratitude!

We really enjoyed our stay! It was conveniently located to downtown Saugatuck and had several restaurants within walking distance. The bike/walking path right across the street was an added plus. We enjoyed several beaches that were close by. John thinks about everything which makes your stay wonderful! Don’t look any further!!

Everything was great at this vrbo! VERY clean and well maintained. The little touches of signs and suggestions were incredibly appreciated! The amenities were super cool with games in the basement, a huge fire pit with chairs to sit around, and a grill if you wanted to cook. The convenience of it being right down the road from downtown Saugatuck made it even better! Overall my three day stay was great! I will definitely save this place for future stays!!

Our family stayed for an extendes weekend and it was perfect!

The cleanliness of the cottage suites was impressive and much appreciated, as my daughter is highly allergic to cats /dogs. The communication with the owner was excellent and very prompt!

Great location and beautiful area

I loved everything about my stay. I did not know what to expect, never having been to Michigan. I was blown away by how spacious and nice the cottage was! I was also very satisfied in Saugatuck as a town, and the beaches around. This cottage is in a great location, less than 15min from the town and good beaches. My host John was very tentative, even started complimentary fires at the fireplace for us to enjoy! Overall, this place was awesome and the town and beaches in my opinion were better than some down south! Definitely recommend staying here.

Cottages are well kept, clean and perfect for a family stay. Easy, quick drive or walk to Saugatuck. John was quick to answer questions and set up complimentary bonfires during our stay. We had a great stay!

This place was close and convenient to everything. We appreciated the taller toilet due to one of us having knee issues not to mention the walk in shower. Everything was very clearly labeled. The free supply of firewood was a nice touch. I also had very quick communication with the owner any time I had a question- by quick I mean a reply within 30 minutes. We loved the lake decor as well.

We loved staying at our adorable cottage. It is about 5-minute drive from downtown or a 20-minute walk. You can walk down the road to Blue Star Coffee and rent bikes there. The cottage was cozy and clean with a beautiful yard. My only wish is that they would allow pets so we can come back in the future!

Walked around the shops in town then ate at Mauro’s Italian restaurant downtown. Perfect night capped by listening to live music at Wally’s. A fun stay!

Great location, super close to the downtown area but plenty of space for the kids to enjoy. They enjoyed the garage picnic area, the backyard and the fire pit. Very clean and well maintained property. Pull out bed wasn’t the greatest, probably the only reason we wouldn’t book again. I would have loved to have a luggage rack (or two) to hold our suitcases since there were no dressers for storage. The wire racks in the closets were a little too shallow unfortunately.

Everything was exactly as described and just as clean as all the previous reviews have said it is. Very convenient location.

Perfect location, exceptionally clean.

The property was great for us. Everything was in working order, and their were good directions. Not much was required from us, basically take your stuff and lock up when you leave. Only complaint was the inability to adjust the temperature. It was too cold part of the time. Seemed wasteful to keep air so high when it was 50 degrees outside.

This little duplex could not be cleaner or more perfect for one to five people to stay in. It was exceedingly comfortable, great beds and pillows, seating, and just superior quality of the facility and cleanliness. We enjoyed Tulip Time, Holland, which was only 15 easy minutes away.

The property is super clean and has all the amenities we hoped for. Easy mile to Saugatuck, while we didn't walk, the drive was quick. Quiet, easy checkin, easy checkout. We would love to stay again!

The property was very nice. Lots of places to walk. Easy access to Saugatauk and Holland.Beautiful setting. The only thing that would have made it better would have been to not be close to a busy road.

Perfect town, lots to do in surrounding towns as well. From the fire pit to the ping pong table there was something for everyone.

This cute, charming cottage in a fabulous location is spotless! Everything is provided here and John is incredibly responsive to any and all questions! If you opt to stay here with children the game room is great! Even the garage is a cute functional spot. Would stay here again and again and again!

The sunrise suites is such a cute place to stay. It’s pretty secluded from neighbors, which meant it was nice and quiet. We enjoyed the backyard with the fire pit, made s’mores and looked at the stars. It was a 4 minute drive to downtown Saugatuck and downtown Douglas, and a short ways to Holland as well. The checkin and checkout process were very simple too.

This was our 3rd time staying in Sunrise Cottage and as always, it did not disappoint. Our friends stayed in the other 2 cottages. Very clean, nicely decorated, kitchen had everything we needed. John is great with communication and is always so kind to start a fire for us in the fire pit. We are getting ready to book again for next year!

What a great fall weekend getaway! The location was perfect. We walked to breakfast daily, into town and to the dune ride. The walking path was SO convenient. The cottage was clean and well maintained. We enjoyed our stay.

What a nice, clean and beautifully decorated place to stay. We had a sisters get together and this cute cottage was centrally located to the places we wanted to go to. We used the Interurban bus/transit system to get to one of our events and what a convenience it was when parking spaces downtown are hard to come by.

Loved this property! Clean and cozy. Kitchen has plenty of equipment and all appliances worked nicely. Instructions from the host were very clear and easy to follow. Would stay again!

This was a last minute booking as we had to come up a few nights earlier than planned to meet up with friends. We wish we had stayed here the whole time. The host had thought of everything in terms of a stocked kitchen, labels / clear instructions, many towels, etc. LOVED it.

This rental was a pleasant surprise. Much larger than the pictures portrayed. The rental was extremely clean and looks recently remodeled (professionally). For our family it was close to several golf courses, wineries, and downtown. Nothing was further than 15 minutes from this location. We are considering another trip back for a golf weekend and would stay here again.

This was our first time in the area but it definitely won't be the last. We spent four nights with four people (2 couples) and the VRBO was perfect for our needs. Check-in was a breeze, the property was well maintained and CLEAN (that is a BIG deal for me) and it was minutes away from all of the action. We used the fire pit on night two and that was lovely. The sky painted us the prettiest picture at sunset. We are already talking about our next trip and the possibility of bringing more friends and renting more of the cottages!

This was our second time to sunrise cottage. We stayed in two different units and both were extremely clean, 5 stars clean! Location was perfect, we really enjoy the stroll to town and the firepit out back. John was great to work with. We will definitely stay there again.

Our family really enjoyed our visit to Saugatuck, due in a large part to our stay at the Sunrise Cottage. The cottage was exceptionally clean, well laid out, and equipped with everything we needed for our short stay. Would definitely book again.

This is our third year coming to Saugatuck and staying at John's cottages. As usual it did not disappoint. It is super clean and well appointed. The cottage is close to everything you will want to visit in Saugatuck. We had the best time and we cannot wait to come back next summer. Thank you.

We really enjoyed our time in Saugatuck and our stay at this cute cabin that had everything we needed. The games were a lot of fun. Location was within walking distance to downtown. Very clean property. The manager was very easy to contact and very responsive. You will not be disappointed if you choose to stay here.

Five stars all around! Stayed with my husband and two teenaged children. Beautiful, clean property in excellent condition in a great location. Attentive and responsive host. Every little detail had been thought of. Highly recommend and would rent from this host again without hesitation. We had a great time.

We had 2 adults and 3 kids (ages 16, 13, and 11) who stayed at the cottage and it was comfortably accommodated our needs. I cooked most of our meals and had what I needed in the kitchen. My girls played ping pong in the basement and we all played Scrabble when we weren't at the beach or blueberry picking. John was easy to get ahold of and very helpful. The place was very clean! We'd definitely stay there again!
