The Fens was an excellent spot for my wife and I and our dog to spend our holiday weekend. Small but comfortable and cozy, it has all the modern amenities we needed for our stay, and the large windows afforded plenty of light to come in and made it feel spacious. Kathleen was very easy to communicate with and made us feel welcome and comfortable. The location was private and quiet and nestled in a wooded area near Blackwater Falls and the nearby artsy towns of Davis and Thomas. We would not hesitate to visit again.

Kate is the hostess with the mostest! We will be back!

Clean and comfortable, excellent host

I come up to Canaan Valley quite often in the winter for skiing, and the biggest factor for me is easy access — getting in and out without any hassle. This place absolutely nailed that. The drive in is flat, and the drive out to the main road is flat as well — a huge plus in the winter.The property is very secluded and features a lovely wraparound deck that would be great in the warmer months. The driveway was plowed and well maintained, which made everything simple and stress-free.It’s perfect for one or two people. We stayed over the weekend, and the place was spotless and very well furnished. The kitchen was thoroughly stocked with basics like oil, salt, and pepper, which I really appreciated since I’ve rented places before that didn’t have any of that. The pots and pans were excellent quality. I didn’t use the oven, but everything else was great. The bathroom was perfect, and the washer and dryer were brand new and worked flawlessly.

Everything was wonderful for our stay. House was very clean and cute. We had everything we could possibly need.

The host was so nice and very responsive! This was such a cute place for me and my dogs. It was nice and relaxing. It was close to towe. But deer often would walk around. The bed was really comfortable. I loved this place.

The cottage was wonderful. Super clean and cozy, perfect for our weekend away! Too cold to enjoy coffee on the porch but I absolutely loved the heated bathroom. We are already planning our next visit.

Clean cabin in a secluded spot, but not far from town. Everything was fresh and clean, little extras provided was a nice touch...Communications were great, everything worked well! Kate is a great host!
