Set in the countryside village of Birdham, Spence Cottage is in the perfect place to easily access the historic city of Chichester or West Wittering beach. On the road down to our famous golden sands you can easily skip the traffic and head over to our favourite sandy spot in no time. Close also to the sailing village Itchenor Spence Cottage is an excellent base for avid sailors or those who just want to be close to the south coast.
Spence Cottage has everything you need to effectively self-cater during your stay. The kitchen comes equipped with cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave, washer and dryer and lays open plan via a breakfast bar to the dining and living area.
The cottage has been decorated to a very high standard and the modern comfy living area is a peaceful space to unwind after a long day exploring ! Why not open up the tall French doors to the garden area and make use of the table and chairs for a spot of something fizzy.
Spence Cottage has two good sized bedrooms. One double and one twin bedroom with a family bathroom set between the two with bath and shower.
The cottage comes with two car parking spaces so there is ample room for couples travelling together or a family.

Birdham has a vibrant sailing community and Chichester Marina is within walking distance. In addition, the nearby sailing village of Itchenor can be accessed via a beautiful walk and the area is perfect for cyclists. One of the best sandy beaches in the south of England is only a few minutes away in West Wittering, which is also a haven for windsurfers and sun bathers. Birdham itself is a very pretty village with a variety of properties and it is well served by a good village shop.

Just to the north of the village is the famous cathedral city of Chichester. Dominated by the cathedral, the city centre's character and heritage has been preserved extremely well and it has a wide range of interesting shops and places to visit. The internationally renowned Festival Theatre attracts actors and visitors from all over the world. The nearby Goodwood Estate has both horse racing and its famous motor sports events, including the Festival of Speed and the Goodwood Revival. With so much to do, it is no surprise that this is such a popular holiday destination, but equally people often visit for a quiet, relaxing break

My husband and I stayed for a long weekend at Spence Cottage with our dog and had a lovely time. The cottage is spacious, comfortable and has everything you need for a wonderful stay. Birdham Pool and Chichester Marina are a 30 minute walk down the road and the witterings only a short drive. We would definitely stay again!

Nice cottage to use as base for your exploring with friendly neighbours. Local supermarket is well stocked. We used local pubs, takeaways and café and all severed good food.

Beautiful character property, perfectly placed for countryside walks and seaside visits. Waitrose and a Co-op are really close by, and we found a few quality restaurants within easy driving distance. Parking adjacent for loading/unloading. Excellent all round. Will book again!

We had a great stay in Spence Cottage. The house was lovely, spotlessly clean and well appointed. Very handy to have a washer and dryer for a beach stay. We enjoyed using the patio as well. Location was very good, a quick drive to East or West Wittering and having the shop next door was a nice feature. The area is not that walkable, so you do need to drive most places. All in all, it was a great house and we would definitely stay again. Thank you!

Liked the location of the house, convenient for west Wittering beach and with great walking from base. Salterns way is good cycle way and close. Layout of house is good, pleasant outdoor area also. Negatives: didn’t like the beds, too soft and a little noisy. Wouldn’t have booked a house without a dishwasher, sadly missed that point in advance.

Really enjoyable stay in an ideally situated property with excellent facilities. Would be even better with a woodburner in the fireplace for extra enjoyment.

Great property, well furnished, clean, comfortable and in a good location for the area. Only problem was the mobile signal on both Vodaphone and Tesco Mobile was almost zero the entire stay, not that important as WiFi was good but worth knowing. Would definitely stay again.

We had a lovely, relaxing week in Spence Cottage. It was spacious and very well equipped with everything you could need in the kitchen. The heating was easy to operate too! Being on a junction was not noisy, just unusual, and parking on site was so convenient. Spence Cottage gave us a great base for exploring the area and we loved the walks around Pagham Harbour to see the scenery and birds. Plenty of other places to visit on the peninsula and Chichester is only a short drive away. Arundel was easy to get to as well. A well-stocked village shop/Post Office 100 yards away and Little Waitrose in the Shell garage on the corner made for an easy life!
