Stayed Jan 1, 1Overall a cosy, comfortable cottage, let down by some details: A ‘mish mash’ of crockery, cutlery and glasses. Should be at least 4 of everything for a 4 person accommodation e.g. only 2 (mismatched) wine glasses. An uncomfortable bed. A tv with only basic freeview channels (no opportunity to connect to Streaming services). No ‘Welcome Pack’ (there usually is in self catering accommodation. A request from Welly Boots to strip the bed linen before we left - really! Sort these things out and our recommendation would be a ‘yes’, rather than a ‘no’

Stayed Jan 1, 1We've stayed in Shire Cottage a few times but the first time we have stayed near Christmas and it was lovely to have a tree and decorations to welcome us. We were also pleased to find the sofa and chairs had been changed and were much more comfortable. The cottage is well laid out and had everything we needed. It is also warm and has the option of a wood burning stove for extra character. The only thing letting it down are the beds. Especially the single beds which are uncomfortable and creak loudly when you turn over. It would be perfect if they were replaced. Oh, and a bigger bin in the kitchen wouldn't go amiss!

Stayed Jan 1, 1Clean and very warm cottage with great layout. Lots of hot water. That said the cottage needs some TLC. You have to look beyond curtains hanging off rails. The crockery / cutlery and glass situation resembles a jumble sale and poor. Pots and pans for cooking on the other hand are good. A couple of miles from Broadway so good location but beware very scruffy yard and outlook. All of that said we looked beyond the flaws and enjoyed our stay.

Stayed Jan 1, 1Property OK, photos a little deceiving as not as welcoming and cosy as depicted. Basic needs met but the second bedrooms beds are totally unsuitable for anyone older than about 10 as very uncomfortable and ridiculously noisy when moving around on them. Hot water for shower pretty much went cold after 2 showers so not great when there's 3 or 4 people. Sofa springs pretty much shot so not comfortable. Property very much needs some attention and money spent as peeling paintwork and generally tired and dated. Would not return.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Shire Cottage was all we expected, and we enjoyed our stay in the rural setting, just a couple of miles outside Broadway. The accommodation was comfortable, and well equipped, although space in the bedrooms was tight. The one outstanding negative was the creaky floors upstairs, the noise from them enough to waken someone who had retired early. The outside space was also restricted and the outlook was not inspiring.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The cottage felt like a cottage in the countryside. It had almost everything that you could ask for. My only criticism is that there was no dish drying towels or paper towels in the kitchen.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We came to stay at Shire Cottage for our second Christmas in a row. It was very clean and tidy and well decorated and was a great place to stay, conveniently located for the Cotswolds.
